    Pieces about inner journeys

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by ILTBY, Nov 11, 2007.

    Hi all :)

Just wondering if anyone has ever written anything concerning an inner journey? I'm currently doing an Advanced English assessment task where I have to collect material regarding inner journeys and I'm not having much luck, so I thought I'd ask here. If you have, would it be possible for you to post here and could I, with your permission, use it in my assessment task?

    Thanks,

    Josie.

What exactly do you mean by 'inner journey'?
I just want to be clear about that before I say if I have a story or not for you.

    Their suggestions are-

    - The journey one takes from sickness to health, from fear to security, and so on
    - The journey of the mind that a person undertakes when they travel from a familiar environment to a completely different one
    - The inner journey that we travel in growing up

    That sort of thing.

Ok. I'll see if I have anything useful for you.
You might also want to talk to Lessa, she might have or know a few unpublished stories along the lines that you want.

Try 'The Body' by Stephen King.
Its the novel the film 'Stand by Me' is based on.
And its about 4 boys walking down a rail road track to find a dead body.
and they grow up and face challanges together along the way.

Two that come to my mind are Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain and Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen. Another would be The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Thanks Cogito :) Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a good one, don't know much about the others.
