I've been thinking about it for a while, and I've decided to leave the forum. I just don't feel welcome here anymore. There are a few great people in this place that I've tried to stick around for, but unfortunately I can no longer handle the 'special' attention I've been receiving from two specific forum members over the last 18 months. Every time I feel comfortable enough to interact within the forum, and post new pieces of my writing, they find some way to shut me down and drive me back to lurker status. I originally thought they'd get sick of me and just ignore me like normal people do when they dislike someone; but I've finally figured out that it's just not going to happen. I've been joined to this site for a couple of years now, and I've really come to love the community, which is probably why I've put off leaving for such a long time. Over the years, I feel like I've really grown as a writer through the help and support of the community, and for that, I am sincerely grateful. I've also met some really awesome people here, whom I very much hope to remain in contact with in the future. A special thank you to anyone who has ever bothered to read my writing and comment on it; you guys are great and I wish you the best in your literary aspirations. - Eoz.

I know I don't know you or anything, but just thought I'd say it's a shame you're leaving and good luck for the future.
Hmmmm High post count members always have their feathers ruffled on sites, sometimes for having high post counts. "There are no accidents" So, if you stay or go, or go and then stay, it was meant to be. "Sometimes we have to do what we dont want to do in order to get what it is that we want" Pook

While I don't know that we ever much interacted, leaving a board with an announcement seemed kinda weird. It's a kind of proclamation. I'm not trying to be negative but if a person wants to leave, the best way is to just not return. If you post you are leaving, then you are looking for a reaction. I find this odd. Like I said, I'm not trying to focus on the negative but there were other ways to handle the situation. Not reacting or even using the Control Panel to put the offending persons on Ignore. That said, I wish you good luck in your endeavors.
As an active member for over four years, Zoe probably had a bit of an attachment to this place and had made a few friends over the years. I think it's respectful to say farewell to the friends she has made instead of just not returning and leaving people wondering why. And yeah, it probably was a dual-purpose post, also as a send-off to the people she has been having issues with lately. And there's nothing wrong with that either.
Eoz, I'm sad to see a great forumite feeling the need to leave the site. I hope you read this, because although we haven't exactly talked much over the years the forum's been a better place for having you around. I hope you come back at some point in the future. It's a real shame that some idiots (and I don't pretend to know who they are) have forced you away.
