    Problems translating a concept

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by sophia_esteed, Jul 28, 2011.

Does 'concentric circular layout' have any meaning in English?
It's for the description of a city. It relates to the city plan.
The concept is that the city has been built and has developed following this...pattern? layout? plan?
The idea is that the various areas of the city are inside concentric rings, with the central business district being located inside the inner ring and the residential areas on the outer rim.
English is not my mother tongue and I'm having problems translating this.
    It's for a sci-fi project I'm working on.

Yes, that works in English. You can say the city was built as a series of concentric circles, with the outer rim being residential areas etc.

    Thank you!
I've written a series of simple short stories in the past in English, but this is my first try with something as complex as the project I'm working on right now. This will be helpful! :)
