Writers and contest participants of WF.org, some good news. While we're still having difficulty adjusting the settings to put the whole Writing Contests section behind the passwords firewall, from here on out we'll be setting the contests such that you have to be logged in to see the entries. What this means is that your future contest entries (from August 2019) will be protected behind the forum's member password firewall, just as if they were in the workshop. Your entries will no longer be accessible to search engines or anyone who is not a logged-in member of writingforums.org. We have no control over publisher policies and make no promises, but this should provide you with a better chance of getting an entry, whether winning or not, published under "first publication" policies. Please remember, however, that this forum has over 50,000 registered members, and employees of publishing houses may number among them. At present this is an option that must be manually enabled each and every time a Contest Administrator sets up a new contest, so while we will do our best, forum staff are all volunteers and writingforums.org and its staff make no legal guarantee that your work will be protected by the login firewall. We hope this procedure will prove beneficial to all, and we thank you for your continued participation in the contests here.
