    Putting in an uncensored section

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by MJ Preston, Jul 12, 2010.

I am not referring to anything pornographic, but a section where language in stories is not automatically censored by V Bulletin. I know this is possible, on the web forum I used to administer we had a section we deemed adult oriented and placed a warning and rules.

Again, I want to stress I am not talking about pornography, but writing which is free of the ******ing that the program automatically censors when content contains profanity.

    Food for thought.

Nope. This has been discussed to death in the past, and this site will not have a adult-rated area. The only area where tyis would even make sense is the Review Room, and we will not further subdivide the workshop simply to allow members to post more raw content.

There is no benefit in doing so. The Review Room is for learning to critique and to receive/apply critique more effectively, and that can be done equally effectively with content limits as without. The skills of writing are the same irrespective of content.

And to be frank the odd word here or there which gets asterisked out is normally quite decipherable. It's not as though the system AI blocks out whole chunks of text, thus removing context.
