    Query Letter Query Letter - Novel Synopsis - 1st time - feedback requested

    Ok gang, I am new to this- I have written two books and the second, I think I want give it a go. It is a supernatural thriller. Is this a decent synopsis for the letter? Terrible? Is it compelling? Thank you so much in advance!

    Query Letter - Novel Synopsis (name tbd)

    Novelist, Trace Jackson was trying to save himself and so he returned to the site where the seeds of his imagination had bloomed as a child, a mysterious lake with a tragic history on the wild edge of the Appalachian mountains. When he arrives he soon discovers that the dark Indian legends of mountain lore may be more than just stories.

    He was a man for whom living had become a mere distraction until the next drink and he had to do something. He couldn’t write anymore and his life was spiraling away from him. The loss of his parents and wife in a few months time could to do that to a man. He never expected to find that the magical place of his youth had been rocked by a brutal crystal meth gang and a strange murder.

    He’s an outsider whose drawn into the heart of a simmering conflict when a mysterious Indian girl, with a history that is far older than he ever could’ve imagined, gives him her love. She’s torn with inner-conflict; should she do as required, or break with ancient protocol to pursue something she never expected.

    Trace is an ordinary man faced with seemingly insurmountable tasks; to save the hauntingly feral woman he loves, his friends young daughter and to preserve the soul of the Cherokee people, he’s come to care about. He will try, but the stakes may be too high in a cold-blooded game where old legends come to life and brutal monsters do, what brutal monsters do.
