And wicked, and conniving and out for anything she can get! She's also quite bitter towards the MC as she holds him responsibly for destroying her future when she actually destroyed it herself.
He kinda is, and it's the way she phrases the questions. He feels very badly done to, a sort of "woe is me" mood and she just manages to get the info out of him. To him, the questions she asks are of concern, to her, her questions are confirmation of details she needs for the next part of her dastardly plot!
The way she words the questions you say? I'm really interested to read that part of the story. Do you have it here?
I'm working on it right now (well, the end of that section - it's currently in rough draft as I wrote it over the past couple of days). I'm not sure you would get the drift of it as you don't know the back story of the two people but, I'll post it on a direct message to you. As I said, its rough draft and is likely to change when I read through it, and again when my readers go through it, and again after that when I re-re-read ... Feel free to ask me anything if you want any of it putting in context. And thanks! x
The thing is, with something like this, there's no real substitute for experience. Go buy one of those tiny bottles of rum, and do a shot. One shot won't get you drunk, but you'll know exactly what it tastes like and the sensation of it hitting your mouth and going down your throat. Sometimes as writers, we gotta do the research.
Anything with over a percentage of 50, the alcohol will overwhelm any potential taste. It will numb your mouth and you'll feel it burn as it progresses through your throat and in your stomach. You will wonder what you've let yourself in for. Your mouth will be numb long after. You will blush and perspire. Your throat will be sore the day after. At least that's my experience....
I think this thread is already answered, but when I see someone talking about booze I just can't resist Here where I live, the word "Liquor" usually refers to a type of sweet drink flavored with fruits, herbs, cream, flowers, etc. with a high percentage of alcohol. Those are, if you don't have an "alcoholic culture" (that's how we call it here, I dunno if my translation is actually correct ), the best way to get drunk without even noticing it. My personal favorite is Baileys. It's one of this "Liquors" made (mostly) of cream. It's like drinking a smoothie, actually, and it can knock you off really easily if you don't know how to handle it. That being said, I don't think someone would buy rum to just enjoy the flavor. There are a lot of better drinks for that. Ditto that
