    Question from a Polish woman

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by lelsie, Dec 25, 2010.

I'll start by saying that I am Polish and my english is not the best ;) ... before I write something, I wanted to ask, how well I hit, if it wants to publish his long story?

I want to publish your stories on this forum, but I do not know which department. While these long should be placed in the "Poetry"? story, of course, translated into English.

    Hi :)

I think she's asking which forum to post her work on (forgive me if I'm wrong).

Poetry is for poems, "short story" section is for short stories and "novel" section is for chunks of novels (long stories).

It's the rule on this forum that before you post your own work, you have to give 2 constructive critiques of other people's work on the forum you're posting your own work on. That doesn't mean posting and saying "it's good:" instead, give specific tips about why you liked it and didn't like it and why. Comments that will help the writer improve. :)

Good luck and Merry Christmas! (Lelsie, kannst du Deutsch? Du duerfst mir "PM.")

if you want to 'post' your own stories/poems here, just put them in the appropriate section, as mallory noted above...

you cannot 'publish' anyone else's work here, so using 'your' in that sentece is confused/confusing and i am guessing you meant 'my'...

...i do not know what you mean by 'these long'... but if they are actual poems, they do go in the 'poetry' section... if they are prose [stories or parts of novels] they do not...

...that said, if your translations into english are as confusingly worded as your posts and the info in your profile are, then no one will be able to make any sense of them and your writings will not be good enough to be published for english-speaking readers...

...i mentor many writers all over the world whose first language is not english, so if you want help with this, feel free to send me an email any time...

    love and hugs, maia

This Goral believes all people are created equally!

Readers: She would like to publish the stories on this site.

Answer to Lelsie: I do not know who owns this site and what they would say to your offer. You must ask them.

Also, each story on this site is owned via copyright by the writer.

You must give your details to each person who has written a story and seek their permission.

If you don't understand, I will try in Polish.

you can only add poems to the 'poetry' section... if what you wrote is a short story, it goes in the short story section... and if a novel, in the novel section...

a 'long story' is not always the same as a 'novel'...

if you intend for it to be a book, then it's a novel and goes there...

but if it's meant to be a story in a magazine, then it belongs in the 'short story' section, even if it's longer than most...

and in either case, you must not post the entire thing, but only a short excerpt...
