Dining Hall Access at American University

    Hi, everyone,

I've been out of college for over ten years now. When I was going to school we got out meals and then presented our meal cards to the cashier. Is this still how it usually works?

Would modern cards tell you if you've already tried to get a meal?

For example, let's say I used my card to get breakfast and then came back two hours later. Would the card be declined?

For what it's worth, I think that mine would have been declined for a second meal when I was in college thirty years ago.
