Scarlett Johanson is an adapted beauty. Go to a jewelry shop and you will see literal goddesses on the walls.

I think I may have found an answer to losing weight. I've had a ham salad for the last couple of nights and have enjoyed them as much, if not more, than the high fat/high carb shit usually I eat.

That's a low fat alternative? At least you'll be getting your sodium fix.

I do really well with forgetting to eat on the weekend. Guess I should figure that out now.

Yes. How would it not be low fat? And I don't use salt.

I believe Homer is referring to the high sodium content of most hams.

Oh. Well, it's two slices of good ham. And as I say I don't salt the salad. As far as salt goes, the ham in the salad probably contains about 8% that of what's in the usual garbage I eat.

But your assumption doesn't add up anyway, because @Homer Potvin said 'That's low fat alternative?' (note the question mark)

Seems like quite a diversion from Jarmusch's usual fare, but I need to see this.

I was told in college that some words I use, I spell the "British way." (Them: "you spelled that wrong" me: "actually, it's not wrong." Them: "its wrong for THIS country..."). Never cared much why I did this or even HOW I began spelling that way. I spell how I spell.

Few moments ago, I wrote the word "dreamed" and it looked and sounded so bad to me that I thought it was wrong, erased it and used "dreamt" instead. Googled which one was right and was told that "dreamt" is most commonly used in Britain and "dreamed" is "more common in other English-speaking countries."

I've always gone to "English-speaking" schools, so it makes me curious how I picked up British spelling.

Dreamt / spelt etc are also considered quite archaic now, even here.

What a weird night of weird dreams. Made me miss one of my best friends I haven't talked to in years because his wife controls him. She doesn't even let him talk to his family.

I was making a small storage cabinet, out of scrap lumber, for my refinishing stuff. As I worked I realized it had some flaws, but I figured that didn't matter, because it was just for me, and hidden in my workshop, and "perfection is the enemy of the good." So I went on, and made a few more flaws along with progress. Rather than stew in frustration or do some major reworking, I applied my new axiom, "good is the enemy of the finished." Or, in other words, "fuck it, it'll do. I'm done."

I was having a dream where all was going well and I woke up to the fire alarm.

Do you ever have those dreams where everything is just great, and then you wake up, and you are hit with the same sadness you get when a really good movie or book is over? Then twenty minutes later, you've had your first cup of coffee and the dream has been lost in the cacophony of the day. Sometimes I really just want to leave.

Corollary axiom: I also kept hearing, "it's a poor workman who blames his tools." But I realized that a good workman probably avoids cheap tools. If my miter saw doesn't cut precisely and my so-called table saw is really a plasticized piece of shit, then I am probably doomed from the start; "cheap tools cost more."
