Suppose, God Forbid, your sister/mother/wife or brother/father/husband is to be raped, and the molester is right in front of you, and you are made the judge, which punishment would you give?
I'd murder the basterd with my own bare hands! They are some of the lowliest of creatures that roam this earth!
I would have to step aside as a judge because of my connection to the victim. But if it were a stranger who was violated, I would want to impose a life sentence with no possibility of parole. Those animals are almost never successfully rehabilitated.
Actually, Cogito, I want the opinion as a relative. If you are related to the victim, how would you treat the molester?
I would post what I would do to them, but if I did, I'd receive an infraction, or even banning, cause it is far too graphic and horriffic to be posted on the forum. Sex offenders are, as I previously stated, some of the lowliest of creatures on the face of the planet. A snail has more rights to live than a sex offender.
I'd just like to add that a lot of men are raped, too, it's not just women. I believe in life imprisonment for such disgusting crimes - killing a person for committing a crime doesn't make you much better than them, IMO. ETA: I also despise rapists, I think they're probably the sickest beings on the planet, but as I said above, killing a person for their crimes seems contradictory to me. Having said that, I have a few close friends who have been raped and when I found out, I'd have liked nothing better than to hurt their rapists and if it were my mother or sister, I'd probably go nuts.
Very true, ILTBY. And in fact, they can't always safely report it. I know of cases where the male victim was arrested because the police believed he had to have been the aggressor because he was the man.
A male friend of mine was raped once. He has since been admitted to an institue and never spoken to a female since. The female perpetrator got off scott free. I was appauled!
Okay. So basically we have a grievous punishment, either as torture to death, regrettable things or life imprisonment.
I also know of a man who was raped when he was younger - he's about 6"8 and weighs a good 150kg, so I have to admit I was shocked - just goes to show it can happen to anyone Cog, I think the reason people don't put men and rape together is because most cases of men being raped go unreported. It means people think it happens less often, but it's really just less publicised
My girl friend was raped a few mouth ago... and I don't know what I'd do to the guy. Life Inprisonment seams the most logical.
Death would not be enough. I don't know what I'd do, but it wouldn't be pleasant, and it wouldn't be simple murder. After dinnertable conversations about crucifixion, that sounds like it might be horrific enough, but then again, constant horrific pain for the rest of their lives would probably be my ideal choice of punishment. I'd want them begging for death, and have the pleasure of denying them that. Yes, I'm a sick bastard, and am rather overprotective of the people I love. I know several people who have been the victim of rape, and the perpetrators better hope I never run into them...
This is a tough one. I'd probably want to kill him at first but hopefully my logic center would kick in and stop me. I would probably want a capital punishement, though from what I hear sex offenders have the worst of it in prison so a lfie punishment may be even more painful for them.
That's a point, lordofhats, prison might be the best punishment, from an "eye for an eye" perspective... "...pass the soap..." But unfortunately, sex offenders are (in British prisons, at least) kept segregated from the other prisoners, for their own safety.
Yeah. Sex Offenders have the worst time in prison and I hear that its even harsher for child molesters. Even Criminals have some degree of decency I suppose.
Rapists also have the tendency to create other rapists. Most rapists and child molesters were themselves raped/molested at one point in their life.
speaking as a rape victim (date rape) to be sure but rape non-the less. I say life in prison in the open population. Let them take their sadistic minds and bodies and deal with the fear their victims feel from that day forward. Even murderers have mothers, sisters, wives and daughters. But have it set up that the rapist would never know when he or she was going to be assaulted. that is part of letting them know the fear of their victims.
I perhaps wouldn't send him to prison for life, but for a good many years and thats depending on whether it was his first offense of this kind.
