Reading The Portrait of A Lady

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by lawrencelpy, Dec 22, 2017.

I am now reading the Portrait of A Lady by Henry James. Who has read it before or is reading it?
Let's share the work!! I think the language is far too grandiloquent, and sometimes James spend too many words describing a small scene or a small action, which always makes people out of focus of the theme.
Perhaps that is the style of a classical work!
