2016 been hard on musicians
Bad year all 'round, at least on the larger scale. Damn.
RIP. He was possibly the only man who could make 80s synth sound quite this terrifying:
I wonder who'll they tap to sing "Hallelujah" at his funeral? A hell of a lot of good covers of that song...
Or, being Leonard Cohen, maybe they'll come up with something less expected.
This saddens me, especially since I have shared this man's stomping grounds in this multi-cultural city of ours.
We will lose many more extraordinary voices in the next decade as many of the icons of the cultural revolution reach the end of their natural lives.
This is really sad. My favorite song of his, 'Waiting for a Miracle,' was our wedding "march". As a lyricist/poet, he was simply amazing. Rest in peace.
