Is there a chance I can replay Abbadon from (un)retired villains for your roleplay @gibble410 ? I really liked that character and it's a shame I didn't get to play him more. (I may have to tweak his abilities a little to fit this game, but except for that I'd really like to seehim work along Joker and the like
Hi everyone! I'm new to these parts and want to take a crack of RP (hoping to improve my writing skills in the process ). I prefer to gauge the interests first before I attempt it though. Below is my general idea (modifications can still be implemented): Dadroya Decades have passed since the Great War. The conflict itself wiped out nearly all the inhabitants in the world. The survivors of this conflict gathered together and fled to the continent known as Dadroya. Dadroya was left relatively unscathed due to her neutrality in this conflict. With other parts of the world ravaged by the war, only Dadroya was habitable. However, the locals of Dadroya whose ancestors settled the land centuries ago didn't welcome them. To the locals, these foreigners practiced heretical magic that caused the Great War. Unwilling to let these dangerous people settle on their land, the locals took arm and would do everything in their power to stop the foreigners. The region of Ebazos stood between the survivors of the Great War and the heart of Dadroya. Setting: You start in a town (name to be determined) within Ebazos where all the action is taking place. There are rumors of foreigners invading but no confirmations have reached the town yet. A map, drawn by me with paint , will be provided to show the key locations. Certain location will be revealed as the story progress. Goal: -For those opposing the foreigners, you intend to repel their attack. -For those supporting the foreigners, you aim to get them through the defenses into the heart of Dadroya. Characters: You are an inhabitant of Dadroya. You have your opinion regarding foreigners. You might support or oppose them but you needn't make this public. Choose your actions wisely because your actions may affect the development of the plot. For example, you might choose to escort a trading caravan to its destination which will reveal a new location on the map. Characters Templates: Name: Race (human, orc, elf, anything that fits a fantasy theme): Age: Profession (blacksmith, merchant, soldier [you get the idea]): Weapons (sword, spear, bow) OR Magic (one of the elemental*): Description (no pictures): Short backstory: *earth, fire, wind, water Rules: -Keep roleplay realistic in this theme -One character per person -No godmodding -No controlling other characters unless given permission -No sexual actions/talk
With the dying of Celtic Gods, and the epic failure of Suicide Squad, I decided I would try and do one last Roleplay before taking a small break. I've decided to post it after Icarus 2063 is finished, as not to interfere with whatevers going on. If you want to read more info on what this Roleplays going to be about, here's the link. https://www.pottermore.com/writing-by-jk-rowling/ilvermorny Now for the info, Ilvermorny The American School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, located on the highest peak of Mount Greylock in Berkshire. Founded after Hogwarts, Ilvermorny recives students from all over North America. Unlike Hogwarts, the students leave their wands at Ilvermorny over breaks and holidays, only being able to legally carry one at the ripe old age of 17. Like Hogwarts, it has four houses. Hornered Serpent- Represents the mind, favors the scholar. (Like Ravenclaw) Pukwudgie- Represents the heart, favors the healer. (Like Hufflepuff) Wampus- Represents the body, favors the warrior. (Like Gryffindor) Thunderbird- Represents the soul, favors the adventurer. (Like Gryffindor) Sorting The Sorting at Ilvermorny is much unlike Hogwarts. Whereas you put a hat on your head and hear your house from what you choose, the house chooses you. (The house chooses the wizard Mr.Potter!) While the other students watch from a balcony up above, you will stand on circle, in the middle of a room. Around the room lays four statues. The Wampus, the Pukwudgie, the Horned Serpent and the Thunderbird. If the Wampus roars, you are sorted into that house. If the Pukwidgie raises its arrow, then you are sorted into that house. If the Horned Sperpentd head gem lights up, you are sorted into that house. If the Thunderbird flaps its wings, you are sorted into that house. If more than one statue reacts, then you can choose your house. Setting Ilvermorny is a pale granite castle, with lots of glass windows so that everydayeveryday sunshine fills the castle. Apparition is allowed within the castles, a skill third years will learn. The statues of the two founders greet you as you enter the gate, and the comment rooms are almost exactly like their Hogwarts counterpart, (see above), so that can give you an idea of what it may be like. The whole Herbology wing was made by Pukwudgies, walls of oak, grass floors, beautiful flowers, and many herbs and magical plants deck the halls. It also has small fires and tree stumps ready to roast mallow and marshmallows. The ceiling replicates the enchanted ceiling of Hogwart's great hall, complete with constellations. Unexpected breezes also filter through. The Great Hall of Ilvermorny is a basic, large, circular room. In the exact middle is a small table for faculty and staff, and in each corner is another table, with no preference on where to sit. Large glowing braziens are lit around the hall, as well as ceiling to floor windows providing a spectacular view around the surrounding mountains. (Sorry to be so long, I am almost done!) Story This year at Ilvermorny something is different. A dark magic is in the air. Some students are being affected by what's called the "Viper Sickness". It starts with a student never sleeping, and staring into fires muttering. These students never show up for class, and eventually snap and try to kill as many people as they can before they are contained and is taken to the MACUSA. (Magical Congress of the United States of America), for a cure. Only three Viper Sickness subjects were recorded, from the people who stay at Ilvermorny year-round. Some speculate it is the famed Grindlewald, and all the clues and signs point to Grindelwald. And so your mission is to solve the mystery and find out who exactly is Grindelwald before he kills and affects more people, maybe even you. You will have a list of suspects and by deciphering clues, you will cross suspects off your list and decide who Grindelwald really is. But be warned! If Grindelwald finds out you are tracing him, your next on his target list. Alerting any staff or family will result in expulsion from Ilvermorny. But once you believe you know who Grindelwald really is, go to the statue of William, located in the direct center of Ilvermorny. Tell him who Grindelwald is, and he will instantly be chained and locked up. But be warned! You only have three guesses, and once you use them up, Grindelwald finds you out. Then your dead. Magic You will choose your wand directly after the sorting, and there will be apt descriptions of each wand. After sending me your character template, you will be given a list of spells you know, and to learn new spells you go to classes. Some spells you will need on your hunt, so make sure you attend as much classes as possible! Or not, the choice is yours! Now onto characters, and then finally rules. Characters This is a template you will fill out, and then you can see an example template beneath it. Name: Year: 1-7 Age:11-17 Appearence: Skills: Speciality Magic: House Preference: Backstory: Why you are hunting Grindelwald: Name: Sylble Trelwany Year: 2 Age:12 Appearence: Heavily cloaked in shaws, wears small wire rimmed glasses. Dark blonde frizzy hair. Skills: Can pick locks with ease Specialty Magic: Divination House Preference: Horned Serpent Backstory: Is a supposed seer Why she is hunting Grindelwald: He killed her mother and daughter. Rules Please dont do much sexual actions, kissing is OK but nothing much more. I will choose who gets what house choices, I take your house preferences into considerations but you'll see. Have fun! Sorry for such a long post, hope you had fun reading and want to play!
A HP roleplay, how can I say no? And which time period are we talking about? Fantastic Beasts setting?
Hey, would anuone like to join the next RP? The First Act. Before the world started to turn, before the stars were born, before even time began its flow, there was... Yeah, that's it. Nothing. No backstory, no mythology, not even a name for the world, nothing. This is where we begin to play. We are going to create a mythology. Setting We will begin at the void before reality, the great chaos that preceded order, whatever primordial shit happened to be before our unnamed world. How the world will look will be up to us. Characters This is what will set this apart from just a random prompt, and make it a roleplay. Each player will play a god or goddess, who will make the world, f*ck it up, work with each other, work against each other. Everything. Your template will have Name: Appearance(s): Use more if your character takes docferent forms for different tasks Aspects: This is tricky. Gods in mythology usually stand for natural concepts of our world. This is your character's job in the divine world, what they stand for. Anything can be a concept; the sun, love, even the god of dog-litter. Powers and Weapons: Make sure you connect them to the god's concept. Cohorts: This includes every being under direct control of your god (excluding other gods). This will include steeds, servants, his armies, everything. Make sure to explain in the story how these cohorts came to be. Personality: History: This you will leave blank. Edit it in as the story progresses. Example template over here: Name: Odin Appearance: Bearded old man woth a broad hat, carries a spear, has a missing eye. Aspects: king of the gods, healing, death, the gallows, knowledge, battle, sorcery, poetry, frenzy, and the runic alphabet. Powers and Weapons: Gungnir, his magical spear, has great magical powers, a terrifying warrior, has creation and destruction powers Cohorts: His pet wolves Geri and Freki, ravens Huginn and Muninn, and Sleipnir, his eight legged horse. Plus he has a few thousand Valkires under his command and the million or more souls of the eidjaren in Valhalla. Personality: Intelligent and curious, seeking wisdom wherever he can. Is also battlethirsty, ofter favouring those who fall into frenzy during battle. Also, quite a manipulative jerk. History: Son of Bor and Bestla, killed the frost goamt Ymir with his two brothers and constructed the world from his corpse, created the first humans, sacrificed his eye to drink from the well of Urd, hing himself from the world tree to learn the secret of the runes, gave birth to most of the gods, bound Loki with the entrails of one of his sons, is destined to be killed at Ragnarok by the wolf Fenrir You don't need to have all that information at the beggining. Since we will start from the birth of the world your characters can pick up aspects and powers om the way.
@Domino355 Is it a world where humans already exist, or is someone going to have to make them and other animals? And I have too many ideas for characters already.
Hey, I was gonna post mine soon I'm certainly interested, I'll have to see how I'm doing when it's up.
It looks like Icarus might die soon. The curse of the Hal RPs continue. I shall break it at some point though. Next time, we're going to Scotland and dealing with werewolves.
I'm going to post in Ilvermorny today, and if it seems like it might die I'll just do away with it. I think I got Hals curse as well.
Fandom Rps have a tendency to die quickly. Seems the same with original fantasy and possibly with Sci-Fi as well.
Since I'm takin part in both Icarus and Ilvermorny I won't start my RP just yet. I'll wait and see what will happen with the other games
Hi, I'm totally new here, but been writing a number of years now and also roleplaying since I was nine. I've joined other writers' groups but never seen one with an RP forum before. I like the idea of combining these two of my interests, and hey, why not start with a god? I'm in if you'll have me.
Me too. My main ideas are running along lines of Cthulhu-style 'God/dess of Despair, Insanity and the Pointlessness of Existence' places, or along lines of forgotten, unworshipped gods like 'God/dess of walking into a room and instantly forgetting why you went in there' or 'God/dess of wondering whether it's only you that does that thing' (I'm (almost) serious, not even (completely) for laughs -- for pathos of being a rubbish god: the envy of your powerful pantheon-mates, and the contradiction in terms). I also have an errant thought about a God of Atheism... Some opposed Gods would be quite fun -- enemies by definition like darkness/light, fear/bravery, passion/reason.
Nature would be cool lol. Call yourself Poison Ivy. Im thinking maybe weather, time, love, creation, (I think Creation might be too poweful), or reality. My too 3 would probably be reality, creation, and weather. so im calling dibs on those for now lol.
