I have a long background of South Eastern understanding. Born an raised, I suppose. I am a musician; guitar, piano, and Native American flute. I am a huge reader of Science Fiction, and Fantasy novels. I have degrees in arts, science, and computer programming. I have been seeking a College to get a graduate degree in biology/ environmental science. However, I feel such a pull towards writing fiction in my down time. I really would like to find a community, that would not only support my ideals, but give me a bit of guidance. I have never written anything better than essays about other books; that I was told were. "Very well wrote." I know I have bad grammar, and form as well. So I started seeking (teaching) as it may. I started out with a book recommended by the head of the Lit. dpt. at my college. "Steven Kings, On Writing." Here it begins! Trust me. "I" see all of those "I's." Don't flame me--It's just an introduction.
*Get's the fire hose ready* Welcome to the forums, mate :3 We're all friendly here and this is a good community to learn and get advice from. If you need grammar practice, we got a good workshop for it and don't be overly shy on asking questions about it.
Well thanks for the welcome! I just really feel that I need a place to discuss not only my thoughts, misgivings, and faults. Yet, find a community that . . . Just gives a good (GD) about writing/reading. You must understand. Where I live; well, books are for the people that don't subscribe to Foot Ball... Or HBO for that matter. I get this more than most. "Hey! You like that stuff in books. I heard that Game of Thrones had a book! Ya know anything bout that?" I reply, "Yes, It's the series is actually Called a Song of Ice and Fire, and the....(Everyone starts talking about somthing else) Just forget it..." lol
