Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Kallor, May 5, 2012.

Hello, my name is Kallor though that isn't my pen name. I have been writing on and off since I was in fifth grade and I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of writing. Not only have I worked on my own novels I also have two works done, both in the editing stage. I have dropped books because I found I couldn't write them and I have also done text and live rp's. I play D&D and I've also DMed. For as long as I can remember I have been writing or being creative in general. Most if not all my close friends are reader/writers. When I was told about this site I decided to check it out and see what I could learn. After a short time I decided this was a forum site I could get behind and keep up with. I hope we can help each other because I feel every piece of work has the chance at being wonderful no mater how badly it starts off. Sometimes all you need is to put it away for a while, or a better piece of music. (You have no idea how many play lists I have.)

What do I write? I write mostly sci-if fantasy. All of my works have some element of romance, most recently I've been leaning more towards yaoi. I haven't written anything except for rps in a while. I'm trying to clean out my hard drive of unfinished works. So far not so good. Work seems to kill my muse.
What Am I doing now? I am currently working on editing the only book I have ever finished in my Randeal series. When I have it done I hope to publish it. I hope to get back into another book I have started at some point but my co-writer has to finish school first. I have been trying my hand at what we call "jams" You take a piece of music and put it on loop then write to it. Doesn't matter how god or bad you just write what ever comes to mind. The idea is to take 30 min to write or when ever you run out of steam.

I hope that's enough of an introduction to myself and I hope you get a feel of why I'm here and what I hope to do. Thank you and nice to met you all.

    Welcome to Writing Forums, Kallor!

I hope you find what you're looking for here, whatever your interests in writing.

This forum aims to provide the best workshopping resources on the internet, and to that end we have a few rules which you should familiarise yourself with before you get stuck in. The main section of the site is the Writing Workshop, where members can post their writing in order to receive critique of their work.

However, before we allow members to post their work, they must have met some basic requirments. Firstly, you must have been a member for fourteen days, and have made twenty posts on the forum overall (please note, posts in Word Games do not count towards this). This is so that members, when they post their work, have familiarised themselves with the forums and contributed to them (as well as hopefully learned something for themselves). Secondly, members must provide two constructive reviews of other people's work for each piece of their own that they wish to post. This is because we believe that the focus of workshopping should be equally upon giving reviews as receiving them, as they allow a writer to practice and improve their editing skills, which they can then apply to their own writing.

Beyond the Writing Workshop, you will find that we have extensive forums for discussion of aspects of writing, as well as a community area for general discussion. We also run periodic short story and poetry contests, which are good for challenging yourself and expanding your skills.

If you have any questions or problems, then the moderators (myself Cogito, Lemex and Dante Dases) should be your first port of call. Any technical problems with the site itself should be directed to Daniel, the site administrator and owner. I would recommend you have a look over the rules so that you know what to expect, and what is expected. But aside from that, I hope you enjoy your time here.

Thank you, I will keep these things in mind. Honestly I'm glad for such rules. It helps others know more about the person who is reading and possibly submitting their work. I enjoy reading other people's works. I'm here mostly for inspiration and hopefully some other creative outlets.
