I'm writing a story about an autistic boy who was abused, and I was just wondering if anyone had any resources or knew someone who might know what it took for severing parental rights to occur in such a situation? So far I just have the boy having been regularly abused by his uncle but I don't know if this would be enough.
You'll need to clarify your jurisdiction on this - the rules will be different in different places. You'll also need to clarify the child's age and the degree to which his autism limits his ability to take care of himself.
