    Skibbs' Progress Journal

Discussion in 'Progress Journals' started by Skibbs, Oct 23, 2017.

I thought I'd have a crack at this, perhaps I'll add to it each week, as I spend more time reading rather than surfing the internet. Seeing as I'm writing a novel slightly randomly at the moment, I think I'll focus my targets on that.

Target: To write and redraft my first chapter and start on the second (Sunday)
    Target Met: Completed

Target: To switch to my backup novel - and work on that for a while.
    Target Met: 100% Complete

Working on the "backup" novel has done a lot of good - I'm actually writing quite a bit more than I was in the main novel (perhaps it's a better storyline?), and enjoying it.

Target: To finish the so-called "Pub" chapter and work on the next.
    Target Met: 40% Complete

Slowly the story is coming along, but I still need to work on re-drafting the paragraphs that I have done (involving exceptionally painful sentence structure changing) and focusing on a couple more elongated synonyms for words.

    Target: Re-draft current work.
    Target Met: 100% Complete

I am impressed that you can work on more than one story line at a time. I am having trouble switching from my WIP to write the annual Christmas letter. LOL

It's rather funny. When I write (worryingly, also when I read), I quickly switch between different novels - I'm constantly juggling two or three books at one time. At least it keeps me on my toes!
