19 years ago today, I had recently turned 5 years old. I was probably outside playing in the dirt, getting scraped knees, or playing with my toy dinosaurs, but I had no idea that on the other side of the Atlantic my destiny was being born. Had I known about her, had I understood what was happening, I'm sure I would have taken my life in a quite different direction. Perhaps in order to meet her as soon as possible. But since we are mere humans, we aren't allowed to know such things. I cannot say that I regret my life thus far- after all- my path, however long and winding, has led me to her. And who can honestly say that I'd have found her if things had gone differently? But I digress... As you probably guessed, this thread is not at all about me. It is about a wonderfully kind-hearted, genuinely sincere, painfully beautiful girl named Lydia. If I had a dime for every time Lydia has picked me up out of the mud to lighten my soul and bring my spirits back to life, I'd have...well, I'd have a lot of dimes.
