    Soaps

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Heather Louise, Dec 10, 2007.

Does anyone watch either Emmerdale or Coronation street on a regular basis?? I need a good natter about them with someone and every time I ask people I tend to just be laughed at. :p Anyone else as sad as me and watch them?? Or even Eastenders, although that one is more depressing it is unreal.

I don't like them much either.
I just find them really annoying and overly dramatic.

Oww, you two are boring. I am watching Emmerdale right now and Grayson is framing Matthew for killing Rosemary (even though she is in Miami) because he is having an affair with his wife and they are gunna run off with the baby that Katie is having for them. It is simple really and not at all dramatic :p

    OOOOH soapy shows.
a friend came over once turned on my tv to a soapy show and the tv promptly went on the fritz.
no I don't watch them. used to sometimes watch coronation street but that was years ago. It is quite a hit in Canada though. Once CBC took it off the air for a show of something else important and they got so many emails and snail mail letters they never did that again.
British soaps are better than american ones though. Just the accents are harder to figure out.

Hehe, i cannot tell the difference between the accents myself but I was brought up watching Friends. :p And I know Corrie is popular in Canada although they are behind on it. When my great auntie comes over from there she is always complaining as it ruins next months shows. :p

I used to watch "heartbeats" and I still watch touch of frost, midsumner murders, and a police show with a white haired star. can't remember the name for the life of me.
Also Rosemary and Thyme is really interesting.
I do enjoy the british shows a lot. They are more relaxing than the American ones and I understand the humour a bit more. Never could watch friends or seinfeld. they never did anything or say much that made sense.

I once watched the Bill does that count :p

My eldest watches Neighbours like its a religion. But then I used to watch it when i was much younger like school age. Back then it was the Robinsons and the Ramseys.

    Max Ramsey
    Jim Robinson
    Helen Daniels
    Scot and paul Robinson
    Des and Daphne
    Shane

I actually remember that. And those characters.

Hehe, Hollyoaks was filmed near where I used to live. We even saw one of the actors in Nandos. But since I don't watch it, I couldn't say who it was :p
