I had to leave work to run an errand and the song that was on the radio at the time was Manfred Mann's Blinded by the Light. Just hearing that little bit before changing the channel was too much. This song, for some reason, just pisses me off. Thin Lizzy's Boys are Back in Town is a close second. What are some songs that just rub you the wrong way?
^This and also any song by The Black Eyed Peas - I try not to be too judgmental and snobbish when it comes to pop music but I cannot stand The Black Eyed Peas or Will.I.am(William)
I'm old, so rap in general doesn't make sense to me. It bugs me. Want to know what's worse than Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the Light"? Bruce Springsteen's version. I actually found all of Springsteen's first album annoying, because he was overwriting almost all the songs. He became a great songwriter after he stopped feeling the need to stuff so many words into his verses. This may sound weird, but I get angry when I hear a song that's clearly being sung by the wrong singer. An example is Procol Harum's "Wreck of the Hesperus." It's a song that's written for a powerful vocalist, but it sounds like crap because the singer (Matthew Fisher, I think) is so lame. Someone like Roger Daltrey should have sung it. /
I can be very definite about this. Music, like aroma has the power to transport a person back in time, can conjure up good feelings and bad. The one track I will run a mile from if I hear it in a public place is: Fat Bottomed Girls, by Queen. That one track has a seriously bad memory attached, and even now, thirty years on, I can't bare to listen to it.
Whitney Houston's 1992 hit "I Will Always Love You" drives me nuts. I think it's a slow, boring song. And unfortunately for me, this song was number 1 on the music charts in the U.S. that year. Hence, I had to hear it over and over again on the radio.
The songs that my ex-husband and his mother liked a lot. Believe me, they made me hate Pink Floyd :/ Oh, yes, and all those new brazilian singers that think they are the best country singers of the world
Yep, and I don't even have started to write all the worst things I can No one can beat me in bad things. Wait for my poetry (your is bad? I'll check it )
But not Mônica Salmaso, right? I love her. This song puts me in a bad mood. It puts me in a bad mood because I really liked this group until I made the mistake of wikipediaing them and discovered what kind of band they are/were and now I can't not read messages of indoctrination into their music. I just can't.
No, the guys, Luan Santana and the others, always music about the "alpha man" with three words and two notes
Hahaha, this is a thing that we want to forget, no? Don't wake up the dead ones Oh my norse gods, I was a Menudo fan. What a shame!!!
Yeah, I know who that is. He's a "camera pointer". So douchie and typical in young male latin singers. BTW, he loves to post selfies on guyswithiphones. Google AYOR.
I'm old, but rap doesn't bug me, I just don't perceive it as music. I perceive it as an alternative form of public speaking.
Any music from Meatloaf puts me in a sour mood since I hate his music. I hate it just as much as I hate "I Love You" by Whitney Houston.
I heard another one today: ELO's Don't Bring Me Down. I know they don't say "Bruce" but it still makes me want to punch a Bruce, even Bruce McCulloch from KITH.
Lots of disco puts me in a bad mood. I think the worst was a band called Silver Convention. They had two songs, "Fly Robin Fly" and "Get Up And Boogie", and they both ruin my day.
It's not rap, and it doesn't get me angry, more like sad. It's songs like Vic Chestnutt's Flirted With You All My Life. So, yeah, when that gets into my head, I know I'm going to be in a somber mood for a good while.
The Streets Of Philadelphia, by Bruce Springsteen, puts me in a sad and bad mood because not only are the song's lyrics so depressing, but the song was big in 1993...the worst year of my life.
I like rap, it's my favorite genre but anything by Eminem or 50 Cent. Their style is just so annoying.
It's funny, as soon as I saw the title of this thread this song came to mind. For a different reason to you though, for me it's because I think the song and band sucked. That song, or 'Words I Never Said' by Lupe Fiasco. Love the song, I love Lupe, but god ... those lyrics are good, that's all I need to say.
Although I like most of Madonna's music, her hit from 1998 "Ray Of Light" has a rhythm to the song that I find to be annoying.
