Been finally told I can start shouting this from the rooftops... For the last two weeks, I've been in negotiations with the head of Ghost Writer Publications. Out of the handful of authors he wants to work with in 2009, I was lucky enough to be selected (and thanks to buds Shaun Jeffrey and Garry Charles for pointing me in the right direction!). After going through the bulk of my work and sifting through old contracts with other publishers I've worked with, we've worked out a pretty sweet deal (I hope you appreciate that I can't talk figures right now). Just waiting for the contract to come through the post. The plan for 2009 is a novel, novella and a short story collection to be released. All will be released as ltd edition, signed hard back copies with a run of 500-800. They will then be followed by paperback, ebook and audio book versions. The full novella manuscript is being read over Christmas and looks to be the first one we'll release. Soooo pleased with this one. GWP appear really kean and willing to throw some cold hard cash around, especially at product and promotion. We also have cult bestseller Guy N Smith on board (wikipedia him if you've never heard of him). This could not have come at a better time, because, as some of you know, I'll be moving to Australia to be with Tor for good come February. Our house is already sorted as well as tickets, visas, etc. The extra writing income (writing income! I feel like a proper writer!) will come in handy. So alas, I will remain quiet on the WF front once again. Busy busy busy! Some will be glad about that, others not so glad! I still catch up on facebook if anyone wants me. I just had to call in and share the news because I cant contain myself.
