    Understanding Abbreviations

    Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by BogLady, Apr 18, 2017.

    Hi, the newbie here again,
    As I read through various posts and critiques; I see terms I am not familiar with. I can take a guess at some but have been unable to find the exact spot where it tells me what they stand for. Please see the list.
    MC......Main Character maybe?
    POV.....haven't figured this one out, thought I had, then discovered I hadn't
    SPAG.....Not a clue with this one
    Probably others I haven't come across yet.
    Thanks again, I posted this in another spot that I cannot find now, so I am sorry if this is a duplicate for anyone.

    MC = Main Character
    POV = Point of View (first-person (I), second-person (you), third-person(he, she, they))

    Just one minor correction to what's above. SPAG (or, as I write it, SPaG) stands for spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

    Yes. That's probably right. In my head, punctuation is included in grammar, but what you have makes more sense.

    You mean SPAG doesn't stand for spaghetti? Crap. They said practice your SPAG and I stood there boiling pasta all night.
