Say two people were having a heavily emotionally charged fight. There is a lot of laughing and taunting, fury builds. They really start laying into each other. No holds barred. Both are superficially bloodied. Then one of them stabs the other. So far I have it in the ribs but not hitting anything vital. It's a throwing knife that she pulled from her leg and stabbed him with, so not a very long blade. Unsure how feasible that is though, because the fight ends up turning into a hips grinding kind of makeout session near immediately after he gets stabbed. I need him to forget about the pain for long enough to be overcome with desire and completely forget there is a crowd watching them. Stick with ribs? He has scaled armour plating and she had to shimmy it in between his scales to get to his flesh, so I don't think I need to worry about lung puncture or anything. Thoughts?
Sounds like an unhealthy kind of relationship. But if I were stabbed in the ribs, snoo-snoo would be off the table for a while. At least the kind that required me to move my body or arms considering the muscles tha would have been shanked. Breathing probably wouldn't be much fun either.
It isn't really a relationship at this point. Let's just say she has some issues she needs to work through, and he has no idea what he's getting into. Hmm yes perhaps I will nix the stabbing. It kind of ruins the mood.
You can make any wound major or minor, write the wound to the scene. If one is stabbing around armor, just make it not go very deep. Problem solved. Lots of stories have fighting turn to lust. Just be careful, these days #metoo might be a problem.
I find romance/erotica akin to fantasy. The rules can and should be bent. Reality remolded to make lust and love a dream come true. Unless that boy gets a limb removed or a mortal wound, his shear desire for his partner is capable of overcoming any mere flesh wound.
