    The Death of Fantasy. Haziwak

Never had I thought my life would have taken me this way. The people I grew up with exiling me because of my forbidden love affair. All the others cared about were themselves and their futures. My own friends, who had been with me at the orphanage, left me to secure their own reputations.

Sirtfa, my deceased wife, was an albino, a bad omen to the Kashyyyk planet and people. Our hidden love and soon-to-be baby led us to flee Kashyyyk and search for a new life, a new hope. The hi-jacking of an Corellian Engineering Corporation YT-1300 stock light freighter descendant; the ship design had too many remodels before the release of the CEC ZX-4000, became our means of escape and travel. This starship may be old, but it kept my wife and I alive and away from the abuse.

When my wife went into labor things went wrong. Complications occured during the birth and I lost my wife and child in the same night. The only things that mattered to me. No family, no friends, no future, that was my destiny.

I buried Sirtfa and my dear child on the planet Togoria, I also left my heart. Deep depression threw me into hiding, where I was able to develop and plan my revenge. After fifty-five years of sorrow I never took my chance to seek revenge until...

    One last drink, I thought.

The news traveled fast on Charros IV.
A Xi Charrian came down into the slum they called a bar in a panic.

    "Did you hear?"

    This question ensnared my attention.

    "What?"

"Togoria was destroyed, just vanquished from the galaxy. A Sith is to blame." A pause, the look was almost as if the listener had a family on the planet, I grinned, "The powers it took to destory the planet has not been seen since the Death Star!"

I never went back to that planet. I felt that I owed a favor to the Sith for releasing my life from the grave I put it in. I knew that a Wookiee like myself, no matter how notorious to my own kind, would not just be accepted.

I had something to prove, but better yet I felt the itch of revenge on my shoulders. Now to obtain it.

I winced. It angered me so to have people contact me in though. I heard my name. The Sith Knight. It only took me seconds to realize all the atrocities he had just committed within the Destroyer. I smiled. A true Sith.

Unlike many Jedi, I had the power to do many other things and still be able to contact the Knight. As I walked back to my quarters, I responded to his cry of my name. I would plague is mind with the horror of my power.

    C’Tzr!

His mind wasn’t expecting my call. He could see me everywhere he looked. An image of hate, of power, of control.

I specifically remember having Fravlous tell you to leave my men alone. A demerit, I would say, if I really cared.

The images I instilled into his mind, I could feel, were giving him pain. I merely smiled.

I need you to prove your Knighthood. I want you to go to Hapes. There, you will find a small group of Jedi. Two young, three adults, and one Jedi that is much older than the other five. I want them destroyed. You may have the assistance of the NOCIS at your hand. You may take Droideka, though I would be more impressed if you can destroy the six of them by yourself. Don’t underestimate them. They are strong.

He was on his knees, eyes closed. Perfect submission.

You have five days. When you have completed your mission, you may take whatever remains for your own profit. I will require, however, the lightsabers.

    He nodded.

    Back to Korriban

The ship was on autopilot and we had already jumped into hyperspace. It was going to be a little bit so I went to the Ewok and helped it bandage its wounds. It winced every now and again, but the cuts were pretty minor.

"What's your name?" I asked fastening a clasp around the bandage.

It didn't answer for a moment. I merely waited. Patience wasn't necessarily taught at the Sith academy, but it was something I learned when I was young.

That was something Airy had helped me with...

    I shook that thought off.

"Zzyzx," It said at last. From its voice I could tell it was a male. It held a heavy Ewokese accent.

"Why were you running from your tribe?"

"It's a long story..." He kept his head down in shame.

"I have time," I smiled trying to comfort him.

    He sighed and began.

    Invasion of Taris Pt.2--Adam Morin

The Upper City was a beautiful place, unlike the other levels on Taris. It was a place for the rich, a place for nobility. Maybe that was why it was so unsettling to see people crowding the ways the went to the loading docks, to see the shuttles launching off into the night sky. This definitely wasn't a drill. The whole planet was evacuating.

Adam, with Momo close behind, fell in with a group of Jedi Knights. Up ahead, Adam heard people yelling desperately. When the line of Jedi Knights passed, he saw large groups of people who had tried to come up from the lower levels of the planet. Armed guards were holding the mass back. When Adam looked at them from the column of Jedi, something pinged deep inside him. These people, dirty and ragged as they might be, might very well die. They weren't being let on to the Freighters and no one was doing anything about it.

Adam cursed to himself as the column passed into the Loading Docks. He and Momo followed the Jedi into one of the massive AA-9 Coruscant Freighters. It seemed like an eternity that they waited on the ship while still more people flooded in.

They had been escorted to a room by a member of the ship's crew. It was a dark and dirty place, but it was better than being stuck outside with the masses. After a long moment, Adam heard the engines kick on. Soon, very soon, Taris would be behind them.

At the door came a rough, demanding knock. I slid my gun from the strap on my leg, cocking it. Meer tugged on my shirt, looked at me with his angry eyes. He had been mopey since his father went off to fight.

“Mother, do we need to pack?” he whispered. His sister came behind him, hiding in his shirt. They had been on high alert since the sounds of explosions had been occurring not far off for the past few days.

“Yes, get your things packed.” I said, trying to give them a smile. They ran off to their rooms.

I slowly opened the door, my gun pointed at the man at the door.

“Ma’am.” He said, putting his hand on my gun, “I’m a friend of your husbands.” I put my gun back in it’s strap, and let him in.

He stood in the doorway, taking his hat off and wringing it in his hands. He appeared to be in his 40s, a human.

“Ma’am.” He said, biting his lip, “I fought with your husband at his side.” He started, I could see the tears swelling up in his eyes, “He was a great soldier, and he never stopped talking about his family.”

My heart began to race, everything he said was in the past tense. I sat down on the old sofa, my hands shaking.

“He died saving my life.” He croaked out, wiping the few tears from his eyes, “I’m so sorry.”

He sat next to me, and grabbed my hand, putting piece of metal in my hand.

“If this bothers you, I’ll take it.” He said, looking me in the eyes, “This was the shrapnel that killed him.”

My fingers touched the sleek, dented metal. Only an inch small, yet it had taken the life of my love.

“It’s not safe here for those Loyal to the Empire anymore.” He said, getting up, “And I owe my life to you. Come with me to Geonosis.”

I looked at him, and knew he was right.

“Okay.” I muttered, walking towards my room to get my things, “We’ll put our lives in your hands.”

“My names Danner.” He called back.

My eyes slowly opened, and I put my hands to my face; wet with tears. I opened the drawer next to my makeshift bed, and pulled out the shrapnel. The paint had faded over the years of my touch. I pulled out Oran’s photo. His beautiful smile, and his handsome face. That teal skin. My hand gently touched the photo, as I placed both items back in the drawer.

I looked up. Meer stood at my door, sadness in his eyes.

“Morning.” He said handing me a cup of coffee, “Danner sent us some supplies from a local trader, and transmitted us some useful information.” I took a sip of the coffee, the warmth felt good on my throat.

“What’d he find out?” I asked. I heard footsteps.

“Morning Mum.” Said Ozean, walking into the room with that gracious smile of hers. She sat next to me on the bed, after giving me a kiss on the forehead.

“He said there were rumors that a Sith Lord had been here before us.” He said, “Killed a few Jedi and such. But I’m positive our man is still here, he must have just eluded the Lord. Otherwise the Emperor wouldn’t have sent us.”

I smiled, “Any rumors of what moon it’s on?”

“Yes, there’s been some talk, and we’re sure he’s here, on the forested moon.” Answered Ozean.

“We’d better start getting ready then.”

“Supreme Overlord,” the Warmaster said aloud. “Taris.”

I spat blood out of my mouth, standing up and looking down upon the pitiful planet.

“Sensors indicate that these coordinates hold the highest populations. For this time of the night, there is a lot of activity going on. I can assume that is our first target.”

The Jedi had led us directly to our spot. Behind out fleet were several freaters that contained millions of NOCIS druids to help out invasion.

“Land there. Destroy everything. In twenty minutes, pull out.”

    “Twenty minutes?”

“Yes.” I smiled, the wires pulling out chunks of muscle, catching an arterial vain that caused small squirts of blood to pump out of my body. “It’s been almost five thousand years since Taris has been bombed into desolation. Let’s see how long it takes them to rebuild this time.

    “I’ll send the orders.”

It took us an hour to organize the young Jedi to the shuttles. The word had gotten around the main capital city on Taris that the Yuuzhan Vong were coming. Master B’rr was trying to organize shuttles for them, but the city guards were causing us much trouble.

Then, they arrived: a plethora of droid from every direction, firing at anything that walked.

I pulled my lightsaber immediately, stricking down as many as I could. From behind me, the Padawans and Younglings drew their blades and defended themselves as they tried to escape to the shuttles. I moved as quickly as I could to push as many into the ships as possible. From above, shuttles were being shot down by the blockades the Yuuzhan Vong and NOCIS had arranged. I feared for these young ones lives.

Fear became reality when the Yunzhan Vong warriors landed. They were completely immune to all Force powers. They attacked younglings and Padawans, destroying each they neared.

I ran towards three AA-9 Coruscant Freighters, hoping the pilots would be in them already. I needed to have them launch as soon as possible. Already, the guards that kept the lower levels from leaving had failed. There was mass panic.

As I neared the freighters, the one on the far left exploded, causing metal shards to fly through the air. The explosion had killed several civilians and Jedi. My heart ached as I forced droids away with my pushes, and swung valiantly at the Yuuzhan Vong and droids to get to the two remaining freighters. The one on the far right exploded as well. They were targeting all escape routes.

I made it to the last freighter, destroying five droideka as I entered. I ran to the pilot’s hub and demanded him to fly. He started all engines and began to do so. As I ran back for the exit, a Yuuzhan Vong with a long lighted spear stood between me and a room that had several young Jedi in it.

I swung my blade at him, colliding with his spear twice before he swung low at my legs. I jumped over him, landing in a dark and dank room that held two of the children I had been with earlier that day. A time that seemed so far in the past by now.

I swung my lightsaber, stabbing the Yuuzhan Vong in the chest. I held the blade there for a moment as he shivered. Death was near. I pushed the blade further, missing his reaction as he swung the spear upwards toward me, cutting my chest. My blade ran up his chest into his skull as I fell to the ground.

As I hit the floor, my lightsaber rolled towards Momo and Adam. I looked into their fearful eyes for the last time as the shuttle lifted into space.

We sat in the highest tree in the middle of its branches, binoculars in hand. I looked down through the lenses to see a small home surrounded by a group of Ewoks. We watched and waited, the old Jedi had to show himself eventually.

“We should take out the entire Ewok group.” Muttered Meer, pulling out the nozzle of his flamethrower, “I could take them out easily.”

I looked down at the Ewoks once more, they had their little spears and rocks. Not much of a threat but nonetheless they could cause complications, and when you were dealing with Jedi, there couldn’t be complications.

“Yes.” I muttered thinking of what the consequences would be.

“I want you to burn his home too, that should get him out of there. We will go with you, to back you up.” I motioned for Ozean as I stealthily jumped from the tree, landing without much of a sound. My children landed not far from me, theirs with a much louder landing.

“We’ll have to work on that.” I said. Meer gave me a playful hit on the shoulder and I grinned back at him.

“We need to sneak up on them Meer, then you attack first chance you get. You make sure you’re flaming the home too.” I said. Meer quickly took off, dashing behind trees and wild flora. We slowly crept behind him, our blasters in hand. I motioned for her to get in front of me as we heard the screams of the dying Ewoks. This was going to be their kill, or so I hoped. I watched from behind a tree, just feet from the massacre. The smell of burning flesh filled the once clean air. I smiled, my children were most certainly my children. I looked over at the home, it was in full flame, yet the Jedi wasn’t showing himself. I watched as Ozean shot the Ewoks that ran off, as Meer burnt the ones that hadn’t been so lucky.

“What are you a coward?!” I stepped from behind the tree, the bodies of charred, wailing Ewoks littered the ground, “You let these innocent Ewoks die because you are afraid of your inevitable death?” Meer and Ozean looked at me, grinning and holding back laughter. I looked at them sternly, they had to be cautious.

“Well, old man!” Meer taunted, “Afraid of us little bounty hunters?!”

“Well, it certainly looks like it doesn’t it brother!” added Ozean. We watched as the house began to fall apart, parts of the small home caving in.

“Maybe the fire ki—“ started Meer, when the sudden explosion stopped him. The inside of the house exploded outwards as the Jedi jumped through the roof blurring his image from the quickness. I shot at him but he quickly dodged it as he landed with a thud. I felt an invisible force push me hard against the nearest tree with a painful crack. I yelled in frustration, ignoring the pain. I thrust myself up, grabbing both my guns this time.

I looked over as Meer and Ozean shot at him furiously. Their shots were all bounced back at them with his lightsaber, they jumped to the ground only to have him pounce at them with his lightsaber. I quickly unwrapped my Lekku, as my children were thrust to the other side from his force push. I ran at him, shooting at him with a couple shots from my guns. I watched as he expertly dodged all but one. His hand quickly grasped his arm, and he finally looked at me. He was human, with an aged wrinkled face. His eyes brown, with not a single drop of fear in them. His head a mess of receding grey hairs.

I jumped to the side as he came at me with his lightsaber. I began to move my Lekku in a series of movement as I dodged his attacks, hoping my children that ran towards me could see it.

    “I’ll distract him.”
I said with our own language using my Lekku, “Burn him, and stab him in his filthy Jedi heart.”

My Lekku stopped moving as I jumped back again the saber barely missing me this time. I was just as fast as him, thanks to the training of the Emperor. I quickly dropped my trishot into it’s holster and grabbed my whip. I rolled on my side, missing another of his attempts. I yelled at he force pushed me once again, but I quickly ran back at him. I flicked the whip with all me strength as he jumped at me. My whip grabbed his foot, and I pulled. He fell to the ground, landing on his hands. His saber fell feet from him and I quickly grabbed it as my children ran from behind him.

Suddenly a large flame came towards him, I could hear his yells as his body became a huge ball of fire. He began to roll attempting to put the flame out, but Meer kept the flame on him. I whisked my whip out in a thrusting motion and it wrapped around the man’s chest. I pulled it back quickly and he fell onto his back. Ozean swiftly ran to his side, stabbing him in the heart. His body became motionless. They quickly began to toss dirt on him, putting out the flames. I smiled, and leant next to his corpse.

“Not all mighty are you, Mister Jedi?” I whispered.

“Number four.” Said Ozean with a grin, “My forth Jedi.” I smiled standing up and gave her a pat on the back.

“Knock down his home, maybe something survived that we can take.” I ordered Meer. He gave me a nod, and walked towards the home. He kicked the front door, and the entire wall fell down. He did the same with the other walls, lifting them out of the way. I grinned as I saw a chest, burned but still in one piece.

We worked together to move the chest from the building, setting it down outside the now non-existent home. I shot the lock with my blaster, sending it to the ground. Meer zealously opened the chest, almost breaking the top of it off. I peered inside seeing only three items on the bottom of it.

“Mother! There is another lightsaber in here, and a few valuable looking trinkets.” She said excitedly. She handed over 3 lightsabers, and saw the glowing jewelry at the bottom of the chest; a beautiful aged necklace and golden head band. I quickly put the lightsabers in my satchel, next to the one we had just acquired, making sure I could tell the difference between them. Then I gently grasped the jewelry, it was dull with age, but the emeralds in it still shown.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it?” Ozean cooed, taking them from my hands and putting them on herself. I smiled as she attempted to get the head band on, with no avail.

“You have to be human for that to work.” I laughed, taking the jewelry from her. She laughed and went to search the rubble. I looked at the descending sun, it’s illuminating rays slowly receding.

“We need to get back to the ship.” I said, placing our new treasures into my satchel, “It’ll be dark soon.” The children nodded, and started towards the ship.

I looked back at the home, it no longer was a home. Just splinted charred wood. The smell of burnt flesh was horrific. I smiled nonetheless, my children had proved themselves once again. I quickly walked off, grabbing my whip from the ground and placing it back in its place on my belt.

“Ouch!” I heard Ozean yell, and I quickly ran to catch up with them. My heart stopped as I reached them, surrounding us were a mass of Ewoks, in all directions. We had somehow missed them. I quickly took out my gun, as I saw the spears raise up at us. They muttered something I didn’t understand, hatred in their eyes.

“We need to clear a path in front of us Meer.” I whispered into his ear. He smiled and within a matter of seconds, the Ewoks in front of us fled. Half of them burned, screaming and running into the others causing a chain reaction of burning Ewoks. We quickly sprinted past the Ewoks, trying to get away from the angry, burning mass. Spears and rocks flew past our heads, sometimes reaching its mark. We ran into the ship, quickly closing the door as spears hit with a thud.

Meer quickly went to the controls, as I lay Ozean on her bed. I took the small spear from her back, quickly cleaning and bandaging her wound. She looked at me with a frown on her face.

“Too bad those damned Ewoks had to ruin a good kill.” She muttered. I smiled, as I felt the ship take off.

“It was a good kill nonetheless.” I answered back, kissing her on the forehead, “I’m proud.”

C'Tzr blinked the after images of Vincere's face away. The Emperor's appearance had changed the presence of the force in the room. The snarling psychic gargoyles had all been twisted into parodies of Vincere himself. Even now they were creeping from the corners of the room and beginning to cling once again to the Sith's body.

A small shimmering face detached itself from the maelstrom. It was the old herbalist. The room faded as C'Tzr became lost in his memories.

Tatooine. Three weeks before the old man died. They were eating.
    "Your stump."

    C'Tzr grunted.

"It wasn't a weapon that took your hand, was it."

C'Tzr shrugged. "Apples. I lost it because of apples." The herbalist just stared, waiting for scarred half man to continue. "Before I became a pit champ, there was an old crone. She was as withered as you and twice as bent. She brought me a small pouch of apples after each match, win or lose. She never placed a single bet, she just showed up, smiled, and gave me the package. Ya got to understand, in the pits they do everything to make you an animal – it sells more tickets. That's why I got these metal worms in my head. They make me think of killing all the time. But the crone … she was … nice.

"One day I'm eating them and a stitch comes in."

    "Stitch?"

"One of 'em droids that patches you up after a fight. Well it snatched my apples. I got so mad. My head was like a balloon about to pop. I tried to take it back, but pit stitches, they're a bit tougher than your average droid. This thing had an industrial claw hooked up to it. It just held me up off the ground, my apples just out of reach. Then, it was like someone slowly let the air out of a balloon. Ya know how kids do it sometimes to make funny noises? The pressure went from me to the stitch."

    "What happened then?"

C'Tzr drained his tin cup and crushed it. "Now a good stitch costs a lot more than even the best pit fighter, so they took the money out of my flesh. They made me hold my own hand in an acid shower. Ya ever seen it? They take a facet and almost turn it off so just a drop of two of acid comes out at a time. The fighter gets to decide what he puts under it and how long. The catch is, you can only stop when the pit boss is happy.

"Now some start with just the tip of their little finger and slowly move on from there. I knew they wanted blood, so I made a fist, my weak one, and just held it there to the hand finally dropped off."

    "How long did it take?"

"You never really know how long 16 hours and 4 minutes is until you're watching your own flesh dissolve. But that wasn't the worst part. They talk to you the whole time. I guess it's to keep ya from trying to block out the pain. They ask you questions. If you don't answer, they make you give up more flesh."

    "What did he talk about?"

"It was just a bunch of yes and no questions. The bottom line was, the apples – they were spiked with something to make me even more aggressive. The old lady gave them to me while her son placed bets and collected the winnings. They were lies. She didn't have a son. There wasn't anything wrong with those apples. They were just trying to hurt me. The crone wouldn't have done it. Nah she was just an old, lonely woman."

"Of course she was. So what happened to her?"

"What do you think they rendered the acid from?"

    "And the pit boss?"

C'Tzr eyes narrowed in pure hate. "That fat slug to a creature. Just kept smoking, eating, farting, and taking the whole time." The table began to rock as if a leg was uneven.

The old herbalist leaned back in his chair, lacing both hands behind his head. "Hmm … it must have been hard for someone so strong to be so helpless."

C'Tzr breathing grew shallow and loud. The table was trembling as if caught in an earthquake. "I wasn't helpless. I could have snapped his neck like a twig."

"Oh I'm sure … but you didn't. Did you?"

Cracks began to run along the table's length. The old man picked up his goblet of wine just before it spilt.

    "I … I."

The old man smiled. "You just stood there and let that bloated slug take your hand like a farm beast."

The table was now a foot off the ground. Its surface was an ocean of cracks and grooves.

The old man took a sip of his wine and watched it turn as he swirled the cup. "A dumb, stupid, mindless, beast."

"No!" The table slammed against the floor, the legs shattering. Thousands of splinters rose like angry hornets and flew towards the old man. At the last second the cloud of splinters stopped. The old man's eyes glowing fiercely. His world suddenly condensed into a battle of wills between him and the pit fighter. One by one the tiny shards of wood began to smoke before bursting into flames.

The old man smiled. "Hate is the most wonderful blessing anyone can bestow on another."

The memories faded and C’Tzr was once again alone in his blood spattered room. The Sith focused on his humiliation at the hands of Vincere. He focused the hate on the now tiny faces that rose and fell in the psychic turbulence that was the dark side of the force. Slowly, the faces twisted into a likeness of C’Tzr. He pulled them into his soul. His skin suddenly growing cold as he did it. C’Tzr stood silently and pondered his hatred until finally a thought rose to the surface of his mind. The knight smiled.

The corridors of the destroyer were filled with blood, corpses, and frantic men. Some had discarded their weapons, fearing that their firearms would turn on them. Others took the opportunity to settle old scores. A precious few actually shot at random and believed their guns had actually become possessed.

C’Tzr sent the faces away from him to savor the fear, hatred, blood , and carnage. The faces touched a terrified stormtrooper who immediately dropped his gun and ran past C’Tar. The Sith grabbed him by the helmet cuff and tossed him into his quarters.
The trooper dropped to his knees. “No … not me. I’m not ready to die.”

C’Tzr opened wide, revealing the implanted fangs. The acrid sent of urine filled the air as the trooper lost the last vestiges of control. The Knight leaned in close. “Your armor, why is it unbloodied?” C’Tzr pressed his bloody thumb against the white armor. “Tell them all, those who wear my mark might live. Those who don’t will die.”

C’Tzr stepped aside as the trooper scurried away.

    “You!” said General Fravlous.

    The Sith turned and smiled.

“My ship is in chaos. My men are dying. I should execute you now! You .. blood soaked horror.”

C’Tzr smiled and willed his body to be unseen. Before only the blood coating him remained visible. Fravlous took a step back.

“It’s him!” screamed the terrified trooper bearing the Sith’s mark. “Fravlous will let us all die. The bloodied one will save us.”

Fravlous’ bodyguard drew a bead on the fanatic. C’Tzr hissed before willing the guard’s body to crush. Four more troopers pulled off their helmets and bowed.

C’Tzr extended his lightsaber, relishing the way the smell of brunt flesh made Fravlous nose twitch. “You are Vincere’s pet. How would not tolerate your death, but I bet I could cut off a few choice pieces without actually killing you. The Emperor has need of me on Hapes. Take me there quickly, before I grow bored and have to find other ways to amuse myself.”

C’Tzr turned to the five kneeling men “Bring me trophies, fingers and ears.” Then he walked back into his room.

A step into Darkness Pt.1--Adam Morin

The ship engines shuddered to a halt as Master Uta Von's saber rolled into Adam's foot as he and Momo stared in utter horror at the remains of the scene that had unfolded before them. Tears were rolling down Adam's face and he could hear the halting breaths of Momo behind him. Slowly he reached down and let his fingers touch the hilt of Master Uta Von's saber. Tentatively, he closed his hand around it and stood.

"Adam...what are you doing?" came Momo's questioning voice.

"Momo, I want you to stay here," said Adam, his quivering voice barely above a whisper. "I want you to live, Momo. I need you to hide. Do whatever you need to do, just don't die. I'm going to make sure this thing gets off the ground."

With that, Adam stepped over the still bodies of Master Uta Von and the butchered Yuuzhan Vong and left the dirty little room. He took off at a run down the narrow corridor. The room had been near the bottom-rear of the ship and he would have to pass through the cargo hold if he was to get to the bridge and make sure the ship launched unhindered.

Echoing through the otherwise silent air of the cargo hold, Adam could hear the gruff voice and rythmic clacking of a man and his droideka guards. Silently, staying to the shadows, Adam jumped up to the top of one of the massive steel containters that lined the cargo hold. Below him he spotted two droideka and a strangely armored man wielding a nasty looking axe. He was Yuuzhan Vong. Adam remembered hearing stories about the beasts, having never seen one before.

Rage welled up inside Adam as he thought the innocents that were being slaughtered outside. He had felt waves in the force when the other two freighters had exploded. He thought of Master Uta Von laying slain as he tried to defend Momo and he. He thought of the bullies that had been picking on Momo. That all these NOCIS and Yuuzhan Vong cowards were, glorified bullies.

As the three patrolling enemies neared him, Adam flipped on the saber. Green light filled the area around him and the three looked up at him. The deformed face of the Yuuzhan Vong was unreadable.

"What do we have hear? A lost little Jedi who can't find his mommy," laughed the Vong. Then his laughter stopped. "Kill him," he ordered the Droideka.

Compliantly, the droideka unleashed a volley of laser fire at Adam. He spun through the air, narrowly avoiding being hit. He landed lightly behind the first droideka and brought the saber down hard on its head, splitting the machination cleanly in two. The second one had been more prepared, throwing up its shield just as Adam swung. The saber rebounded off the shield and Adam jumped back, once more narrowly avoiding the lasers. Adam threw his hand out infront of him. The droideka flew back and crashed into one of the containers so hard that it displaced the one above it slightly. Taking advantage of the droideka's downed shields, Adam ran towards it and cut it in half.

As he was turning to face the Vong, the monster's heavy hand swatted him away like a fly. Adam fell hard to the ground, the lightsaber flying from his hand. He could feel blood running from his nose. As quick as he could, he rolled himself over to face the Yuuzhan Vong who was slowly approaching him, axe readied to strike.

"Poor little Jedi. So helpless without your magic," it laughed.

Adam closed his eyes and embraced the force. It was all around him. He could feel it in his bones. He willed the diplaced steel container to move, but it didn't even budge. The Vong's steps grew closer, its laughter louder. That laughter filled Adam with pure hatred. He wanted that monster to die. Nothing else was in his mind right then except wanting to stand over that thing's lifeless corpse.

"Die you bastard," Adam shouted, letting his anger flow forth. He threw his hand out and the massive steel container shifted off balance and began to fall.

The Yuuzhan Vong turned back just in time to see the thing come down. It jumped forward in a desperate attempt to dodge the object of its destruction, but the attempt was in vain. The container landed on it, crushing everything below its waist. It cried out and Adam relished in its cries.

Adam rose slowly and picked up the lightsaber, once more turning it on. His footsteps echoed off the walls as he walked towards the screaming Vong invader. As he stood over it, it glared up at him with gritted teeth. Adam, lines of black running through his light blue eyes, pointed the end of the saber at the thing's face. A simple push forward ended the creature. There was only the smell of melted metal and seared flesh. Adam flicked the saber off and placed it at his side. His next destination; the bridge. He had to get off the planet. He refused to die.

General Fravlous hunched over his desk, leaning on his skeletal elbows. Lt. Stleen stood before him silently. With a wave of his hands the General dismissed his personal guard. As the door hissed shut behind them, Fravlous’ shoulders sank. “Twenty four men. That thing has been on my ship less than a day and already twenty four men are dead or dying.”

    Stleen stood silently.

Fravlous shook his head. “At ease Marcus, it’s just us.”

The Lt. took a seat. “So when do we dump him out of the nearest airlock?”

The General shook his head. “And that is why you’ll never have your own command. You don’t see the big picture. First, he’s a Sith and they make for one hell of an enemy. Second, the Emperor sent for that thing. If he can be believed, Vincere actually wants us to take him to Hapes. I’m seeing more and more of the troops on this ship with a bloody thumb print on their armor. How do I break him?”
The two sat in silence until the scotch bottle was almost empty.

"Are you going to call on the Emperor?"

I looked up, fear in my eyes. "Vincere would be extremely displeased. No, he probably already knows, but I see no reasonable explanation for calling upon him. I need a better way to get to that Sith."

    “The blood,” said Stleen.

    Fravlous looked up.

“Everything he’s done has been connected to blood. His quarters are covered in it. There’s so much on him, he might as well have been born red. His disciples mark their armor in it”

    “So?”

Stleen drained his glass. “We wash off the blood in front of the entire crew.”

The General raised his glass in a toast and smiled.

After taking off the tracking device that was left on my ship by the Yuuzhan Vong, the three of us were off to Coruscant. We needed to move quickly. Whoever had made it off Taris would be waiting for help by anyone that could give it.

It took a while to get there, but we finally dropped out of hyperspace, the ship calming to a simple purr as we neared the planet.

"You guys tired?" I asked the TC and R-7.

"We don't get tired, Master," TC said, "We're not human."

I smiled. I felt silly for asking. A loud ringing pulled me back to reality.

"R-7?" I couldn't figure out what was going on, but we had hit a large amount of turbulence, something that rarely happened. "R-7, talk to me."

His beeps and squeals only confirmed my fear.

"What do you mean our engines are going out? Why? What happened?"

He beeped more, but nothing that solved our current problem.

"Okay, okay. Just land us, quick."

"Master," TC said, "I don't like the odds..."

"Don't tell me the odds." I ordered. I hated it when he would do that. It seemed like the only function a protocol droid was developed with sometimes. "Just tell me we'll make it."

"I'd be lying to you then because -"

"TC," I interrupted, "Lie to me then."

"We'll make it, Master." He seemed so unsure. I just couldn't help but smile as we entered the planet atmosphere.

We neared buildings almost instantly, moving too quick. With absolutely no control, this was only going to become worse. Below were landing pads that would have been perfectly welcoming if we weren't flying by them. I frowned.

"R-7." He responded with a few beeps. "Eject out. Use your secondary jets to land yourself. Open the cockpit before you do so."

    He didn't respond.

"TC," my protocol droid had a shiver in his automated voice, "Grab my shoulders. I'll grab your arms as we jump."

"Master!?" was all he could say before I unbuckled and grabbed his arms. R-7 did as he was told, opening the cockpit, and then ejecting himself out. I jumped from the ship with TC on my back. The small shuttle flipped around in the air for a long while before finally crashing into the side of a building.

I looked down as I began to fall. Ships were whizzing by TC and me, dodging us effortlessly. Below, I could see the landing pad. It wouldn't be rough for me to land, but TC would feel it. I closed my eyes and I neared the pad, landing on my feet perfectly, the only pain I felt was barely in my knees. TC, who was behind me still as I landed, wasn't as lucky. His legs hit the ground with a solid thud, breaking instantly into several hundred pieces. TC screamed aloud.

I opened my eyes slowly, seeing that we had made it, and turned to TC. He had let go of me, and was now on the ground, scanning his broken legs in front of him.

"Oh, Master," he panicked, "I'm not going to make it. I'm completely destroyed. I don't know if I'll be able to help you anymore. Look at me. I'm completely destroyed. The odds that I live are a million to one. Oh my, oh my, oh my."

I smiled, bending down to help pick the parts up into a pile. From behind me, R-7 landed, making several noted beeps, only to anger TC.

"I am not ready for the scrap yard, you short useless droid."

I laughed aloud as I gathered the pieces, lifted TC onto my shoulder, and walked with R-7 to the Jedi Council that was several miles from the landing pad we were on.

    Master B’rr

My heart ached at that moment. Droids, invaders, and now a new arrival of Sith, but that didn’t effect me as hard as the feeling of mass destruction. I could feel the destruction of the planet. The shift in the Force. I could feel the death of my dear friend, Uta Von. I could feel the strength that the Dark Lord had now, and he was just laughing. I could feel him corrupting the planet.

I fought as diligently as I could. I was slowly starting to be surrounded. My powers couldn’t keep these beasts away from me, and as it was, my lightsaber was already in use deflecting laser shots that were becoming increasingly hard to block.

I jumped up, towards the roof of the academy, grabbing on and pulling myself up. I had to move, I had to do something to help this fight. I ran as quickly as I could on the roof towards the weapons complex. There were thermal detonators, as well as other explosives that would keep the droids at hand.

“Always running away, B’rr.” I stopped. The voice was recognizable, but I couldn’t place it .It wasn’t the Dark Lords. I turned and looked. A Sith stood, holding two blades in both of her arms.

I turned on her and attacked. She was quick, but I had experience. We fought valiantly for what felt like hours. Her movements were only mirrors of mine, keeping a perfect distance between the two of us. I attacked as hard and often as I could.

“Die!” She yelled with a hard swing.

I jumped, landing behind her with my blade pointing in her direction. I had caught her. I swiftly pulled my blade around her torso, cutting her in half. I looked back at the weapons complex and ran for it.

I took Meer’s flamethrower and filled the fuel in the tank back up, the smell of the gasoline burning my nose. I set it down and watched as Ozean expertly cleaned the guns, concentrating hard.

“You’re getting good at that.” I muttered, sitting next to her. She smiled and continued on with her work. I looked at her back, the bandage under her shirt sticking out.

    “How’s your back?” I said.

“Fine.” She muttered, not even looking at me. I frowned and walked off to my room. I lay in the bed, grabbing Oran’s picture and placing it on my heart.

“We need you here.” I muttered, “Meer’s got a big head and that attitude, it’s going to get to him one of these days, and Ozean, she’s closing herself off from everyone else.” The ship gave a jolt, and I quickly got up, placing his picture back in the drawer.

“We’re here mother.” Said Ozean, peaking her head into my room. I quickly grabbed my satchel, and got everything ready. I looked through my satchel making sure I had everything we had found on Endor. I walked out and smiled, both of them all suited up.

Meer looked at me and began to say something.

“Before you start anything, I want you to come with us this time.” I said giving him a wink.

He ran over, giving me a kiss on my cheek, “Thanks mum.”

We quickly walked from the ship, and out onto the dock. I lead as we walked back towards the meeting room we had been the last time we had visited. I sat on a seat in the far side, my satchel on the table. Ozean sat next to me, sitting back in her chair nonchalantly. I looked in her eyes and could feel her nervousness. I looked behind me, as Meer lay against the wall, tapping his foot. We waited.

A Step into Light Pt.1--Adam Morin

There had only been a few more droideka that had tried to stop Adam as he advanced down the narrow, nauseating halls towards the bridge. His heart still burned with rage, still yearned for the kill. Yet he knew he must supress such feelings. They had saved him once, but it was not the Jedi way. He cursed himself for that.

One more turn brought to a wide set of stairs that led up to a steel door. This was no doubt the bridge. Whatever was beyond those doors had somehow stopped the ship from launching. Adam knew what he had to do.

With more than a little caution, Adam stepped up to the door and powered up Master Uta Von's saber. A strange feeling gripped him suddenly. It was like the bad feeling he had gotten when they were leaving the Temple. The Force screamed out to him. Something, whatever was beyond the door, was terribly powerful. It was far more powerful than Adam, and it was using the Dark Side.

Adam took a deep breath and pressed the button that slid the door open. He was instanly blasted back down the stairs by a bolt of lightning. His entire body convulsed in the most extreme pain he had ever felt. The world spun around him. Something was walking down the stairs towards him. The shadows seemed to cling to it. Its hood hung low over its face, its eyes shining a briliant and malevolent red. Adam tried to raise up the lightsaber to defend himself as the monster came closer, but it was torn from his hand and flew to the outstretched hand of Adam's new foe.

"You are not worthy to wield a tool such as this," came his snake-like voice from beneath the hood.

Adam got to his feet slowly, his head still spinning from the bolt of force lightning that had hit him. "Give that back...give it back now!"

The monster laughed. "Silly child. Don't you understand? You are going to die now. You and this pathetic spit of world will be reduced to nothing more than ash. It is the wish of my master and so it is my wish."

The thing reached a long-nailed hand up and pushed back its hood, revealing Bpfasshi features covered in Sith tattoos. He then reached to his side and grasped his own saber, red light filling the small room. The man was intent on Adam, his smile twisted oddly about his face.

Adam threw his hand out infront of him, attempting to push the man back with the force, but the Bpfasshi's robes barely moved. He laughed at Adam's pathetic attemps even as he gripped the young Jedi with the force and slammed him against the cieling only to let him fall back to the floor.

Adam coughed. He could taste blood, yet his still managed to push himself up to his knees. His foe was walking toward him in long, slow strides. Everything seemed to be in slow motion for Adam. Everything was a blurry dream. He closed his eyes and embraced the force. He saw another boy in his mind, though he knew not who it was. He came behind the Sith and tried to strike him down, tried to save Adam. Yet the Sith was too strong. He was able to counter the boy's attack and kill him. Adam then saw himself die.

His eyes snapped open and he jumped to his feet, barely aware of what he was doing, just knowing that it had to be done. He threw his hand out infront of him again, a blinding light erupting from it with a brilliant flash. The sith raised its arm up in a futile attempt to block the attack, stumbling backwards as he did. Just as his vision had foretold, another boy came from behind the sith. A blue lightsaber erupted from the sith's chest and he cried out in pain. Adam ran quickly ran foward and tore Uta Von's saber from the man's hand. In one fluid motion, Adam turned the saber on and spun around, cutting the sith cleanly in two.

He nearly collapsed from his injuries, the other boy rushing to catch him. It was a beaten and bloody Saku, the bully from the Temple. Without a word, Saku helped Adam into the control room. No less than five dead Jedi Knights lay still on floor. There were others in here too; a smattering of younglings and padawans, even a few crewmen of the ship.

"The Knights died trying to protect us from that sith. If you hadn't come when you did.." Saku didn't need to finish the sentence.

"We need to launch the ship. That sith said they were going to level the planet," said Adam after he regained his balance.

"Impossible," came the voice of one of the crewmen as he and his men ran about the ship's control panels. "The NOCIS have set up a blockade. There's no way we can break through."

"We have to try," Adam urged. "Either we die having tried to escape or we wait here like cowards for them to kill us."

The crewman eyed Adam up and down. "You're right, but we need some kind of diversion. We need something to break the blockade."

All was silence for a moment. "What about the escape pods," asked Saku.

The crewman shook his head, "That would just make for easier targets."

"No, can you program them to fly towards one of the NOCIS ships?"

The crewman's eyes lit up, "Of course, I see!"

Adam smiled, "Let's get this thing to Coruscant!"

The ships engines sparked to life once more and the freighter began moving skyward.

"Increase foward deflectors to maximum power," the chief crewman said. "Calculate the distance to the nearest NOCIS ship. Launch those escape pods as soon as we leave the atmosphere, then divvy up the power between the thrusters and the side deflectors. This is our only chance men."

For a moment, everything was still. On the display, Adam could see the NOCIS blockade getting larger. Everything seemed so peaceful in the black expanse of space. It was a deceptive calm. The freighter shuddered as it left Taris' atmosphere.

    "Fire those pods now!"

Again the ship shuddered as the escape pods were fired. Laser-fire collided with the front deflectors. As Adam watched the display screen intently, the esape pods came into view. They rocketed towards the NOCIS ship and collided with its hull. The entire hull burst into flame and the ship began to fall, pulled down by Taris' gravity. Everyone cheered.

"We aren't out of this yet," said the chief crewman. "Divvy the power up...now."

The freighter shook as laser fire collided with the powered up side deflectors, but it managed to speed past the remains of the NOCIS ship and break through the blockade. Cheers erupted from everyone, even the chief crewman.

"Calculate for the jump to hyperspace," he said, elated. "We're heading for Coruscant."

More disruptions. I moved into my conference room from the back, looking in on three Twi’leks. The Jedi Slayers. I smiled. I could sense the fear and hatred in the room. This would be fun.

I walked over to the seat on the far end of the table, meters from each of them. I raised my hands to the table and set them there, the room constricting upon them. Instantly, the boy moved forward toward his family and me and was caught by the constriction. He wasn’t in pain, yet.

The Jedi Slayer’s daughter knew the feeling already. The binds were different when she was sitting. She merely couldn’t move from her seat. The Slayer didn’t bother moving. It was almost like she thought this was a game. I stood back up, moving around the table to the bag that was placed in front of the slayer. I opened it and looked in. The only thing that interested me were the lightsabers.

I opened the top of the bag wide, the lightsabers floating out with ease. I looked at the three designs. One was an ancient design, one that I had too many of and found to be ultimately powerless if not taken care of often. I could tell by the marks that it was unused for several generations. This wasn’t a prize. I looked at the second hilt, seeing it damaged beyond repair and burnt dramatically. I looked finally at the third, seeing many scars and burn marks as well.

I looked back at the Slayer, my smile disappearing. “Do you call these prizes?”

I stepped closer to her face, my teeth bared, my eyes bright, horns sharp, and my anger tightening on the constriction around the room. The boy was finally yelling at me, but I paid little attention to him.

“I can see you did your job, but you bring me these? Two of these are damaged recently. You were not careful around the one prize I required.”

The boy yelled again. I finally turned to him, his possession lifted into the air and pushed back against the wall he had been leaning against when I walked in.

“And you,” I said with a hiss, “need to learn your place.” The three lightsabers they had gathered floated besides me, turning on and pointing at the boy. I was surprised to see that all three sabers worked perfectly fine. “What do you feel like losing?”

The sabers got close to his face, his screams insults, attitude, and for his mother.

“You’ll learn your place,” I said as the boy finally screamed before the Slayer screamed something finally.

“We’ll bring you twice the prize next,” she pleaded, “please just leave him alone. He’s all we have.”

I smiled, turning around and walking to leave the room from the door I entered. As I walked, I explained the next mission.

“There are Jedi on Hoth right now. I want the lightsabers, in better condition this time. Those three work, but I have no interest in them. You may keep them if you desire.”

I let the restriction disappear when I was near my chair. The three lightsabers that were still floating around the boy fell to the ground, turning off.

“Oh,” I said finally, not looking at them. “Your son better learn his place. I’ll expect to see him, and you two as well, in two weeks time.”

    I left on that note.

“Why can’t I see?”, said C’Tzr, each word pounding through his skull.

Lt. Marcus Stleen leaded in. “That wouldn’t make things comfortable for me, would it? You have a nasty habit of making people do the strangest things. My troopers start killing each other, some start worshipping you, even one of the general’s personal guard- a hardened warrior- suddenly dies. I don’t know how you do that witchcraft, but I’ve noticed you tend to look at people right before it happens. That’s why I had this nice thick steel plate bolted over your eyes. I’m sure you could will it off of you, but you’d pull a third of your brain out with it. Not the neatest surgery – but effective. Don’t worry, I’ll have it removed when we get to Hapes, now be a good slug and just stumble wherever the chain around your neck is pulled.”

The pain in his head made it hard to concentrate. The cranial implants, sensing the pain and skull damage were flooding his body with violent images and stimulants. No matter how hard he tried, C’Tzr couldn’t wrap his mind around the currents of the force. There were simply too many distractions and so he stumbled and lurched as the chain was tugged.

“You can stop here,” said Stleen

A pair of mechanical hands shoved C’Tzr on to a metal stool.Below C’Tzr, the destroyer’s remaining compliment of strom troopers stood at attention. Droidekas flanked them on either side with orders to kill anyone who even reached for a weapon.

“Here is your bloodied one” said Lt. Stleen to the crowd. “This mangled mess is the reason some of you killed each other while others defaced their armor. It ends now.”

A pair of water jets struck C’Tzr. Stripping away the dried blood and gore. After several minutes, Lt. Stleen nodded, silencing the jets. The Sith was gasping for air, his rough cloth robes clung to his body.

Lt. Stleen leaned in close and said, “That little bath means water rationing for two days. In exactly six hours any trooper found with this Sith mark will be dumped out an air lock. Dismissed.”

The last thing C’Tzr felt was a high pressured needle slamming into his neck and then the world disappeared.

    The Story of Zzyzx

"The tribe is very... old-fashioned. They believed in a system that I didn't find to my liking. I was always criticized for it. Well, the Chieftan's son, who is a very pompous, stuck-up Ewok. He thinks he's better than everyone else. Anyway, he was getting on my nerves. He just wouldn't shut up about me having different views than everyone else. I was an oucast, as it were. Well, he pushed me too far... and... and..." He hesitated. "I killed him. I speared him through the eye. The blood wouldn't stop. ...Someone ran and told the Chieftan. I ran. I booked it as fast as I could. ...That's when you found me."

We were quiet for a while and then my computer system pulled us out of hyperspace and said: "Korriban has unexpected vistors. Please re-direct your route." And clicked off.

"****!" I knew those unexpected visitors. I ran to the computer console and began pushing buttons. I had to think quickly. Where to go?

I'm sure the Master would like to see me. Just for a report. I re-directed my course to Emperor Vincere's personal shuttle.

    Master B’rr

I made it to the weapons complex and gathered as many explosives as I could. As I ran back for the loading docks, I threw thermal detonators at large groups of NOCIS droids and Yuuzhan Vong. It was difficult to avoid gunfire as I ran, but I survived. I could see the shuttles leaving, and I was happy.

I looked up towards space. I could feel the power of the Yuuzhan Vong’s bombing shuttle nearing. I didn’t have a lot of time. I worked my way to the nearest ship, dropping the explosives on the roof of the archive complex. I didn’t want anything getting out, any of our secrets. They exploded as I left the roof, landing on the ground with my lightsaber out once again.

I was then surrounded by droids at all angles. I wasn’t going to make it off this planet alive.

I walked into my quarters that had been remodeled and built by my trusted officers. I looked out my large landscape window, lifting my head to the thoughts that circled the Force. I could feel the fear of planets, the fear of the council and the deaths of two more. Only ten left. I looked to my left, seeing nothing, but knowing something was coming. I closed my eyes, and waited.

    Sylvana.

She was with someone, or something. I didn't really like that, but I'd accept it. She was carrying my prizes.

I opened my eyes, and turned for my study. I sat, curling my fingers and waited. She’d be here soon.

We reached the Master's shuttle quickly. I stationed my ship on a small dock and exited onto the shuttle. One of the master's guards greeted me in a professional manner.

"Sylvana," He gestured down the hall.

"Stay on the ship, Zzyzx." He obeyed. I walked quickly down the hall to my master's study.

I rapped lightly on the door, waiting patiently for my master's voice.

I heard her knock. The door opened instantly. She stood just behind the frame, her eyes intently on me, but just below my eyes. She was the first person to ever look me in the eyes. I didn't feel an urge to destroy her afterwards, which made her an apple in my eye. She had great potential.

    "Please, enter."

She moved in towards the chair opposite me. Before she sat, she took a knee in front of me.

    "Rise and sit."

She did so, reaching for her side and placing two lightsabers in front of me. I examined them before picking them up with both hands. They were perfect prizes. I let them go, the force catching them and placing them on my prize wall. Seven hundred and fifty nine now.

"I see your mission was a success." I smiled. "Good."

"Thank you, Master." She said with a bow in her shoulders.

"You're proving to be an asset to the Empire," I smiled, looking at my nails. The dark side had corrupted my body, and I loved it. "I have a new mission for you though. Something I think you will definitely love."

Her eyes glowed, but her instinct was perfect. She didn't try and read my thoughts. She was perfect.

"I have read your thoughts, young one," I said. "Tell me about this..."

I looked at her, my eyes pulling her gaze away.

    "Aaron Leblanc."

The door opened revealing the master's study. He was sitting calmly in his chair, looking at me. I looked intently back, but just below his eyes. I had made the mistake of looking into those eyes, dangerous, however gorgeous, once before. Strangly, he had not destroyed me like he had to previous Siths. I had a feeling he favored me over others, but out of respect I never tried to read his thoughts. I never really had the desire to know what he was thinking...

"Please enter." He said. I obeyed, walking slowly. One could never anticipate what Vincere would do. I moved to the chair opposite him and took a knee. I don't think it was completely necessary, but I did it anyway, again, out of respect.

"Rise and sit." I sat still avoiding eye contact. I gave him the lightsabers. He examined them and put them on his wall. Then he asked me a question I had not expected.

"Tell me about this... Aaron LeBlanc."

    My eyes widened.
