State of Emergency in Puerto Rico due to... rain.

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Wreybies, Sep 24, 2008.

    This is so humiliating.

    It rained, people. That’s all.

I live here and I can report that all it did was rain. But because we are close to the elections, all the politicals are vying for their time on camera and pounding their chests about how, “I will make sure that we get taken seriously and we get the ba-jillions of dollars we need to recover from this near-biblical catastrophe!”

The areas which flooded always get flooded, even during regular rain.
If they show you roads washed away or homes tumbled to the ground, it’s because they were built on hillsides of better than 85 degrees and this happens even when it doesn’t rain because you don’t build a house on that kind of grade!

Edit ~ Latest news flash: The Governor has declared a moratorium on the collection of sales tax to help with our present state of "extreme emergency."

At least they are providing the hot air to help dry things out.

A similar thing happens here. After the catastrophic floods last year, there only needs to be the threat of rain, and the Met office put out a weather warning.

Haha, brilliant. Sounds like election time in Puerto Rico is almost as ridiculous as it is here in the states.

Fact: There is a 35% chance that any elected official in Puerto Rico will end their time in office behind bars.

Tell me that ain't Jerry Springer as-all-get-out.

I hope the jails are located in the low-lying areas, particularly the cells reserved for former elected officials.

Is it true that the cause of hurricane season has been tied to politians looking out to sea whilst delvering volumes of hot air over the water?

I'm sure I could scare up a few scientists with exhaustive volumes of data to prove same. :D

Don't even wait until there's a flood. Make it your first act as Grand Emperor of the World. An arc, you know, just in case.

That's what I meant. In the middle of the Sahara :p Or maybe somewhere more useful. Like Holland.

No problem, so long as the Zed-PM is fully charged and there are no Wraith cullings in the near future. :p

Especially if they have extensive government grants to do so.
