I know the rules advise new members to give critiques on other members' work before posting their own, which I've done several times, but I'm still barred from posting my own short story for critiques; I'm still seeing "You have insufficient privileges to post here." Was just wondering why? Any clarity would be appreciated.
From the FAQ: Writing Workshop requirements are threefold; You must be registered for 14 days You must make 20 posts forum-wide You must post 2 constructive reviews for each piece of writing you post
no - you joined on the 29th of july - so you've been here 7 days - if you can't wait another week you could buy supporter membership
It's really not that hard, there are a bunch of random conversations going on in the Lounge right now that you could join in on. Also, pro-tip: When people get to know you socially, they're much more likely to jump in and give you advice on your stories. There's no obligation to, but the people on this forum that I consider friends are always going to get some advice from me even if I have to make a note to get back to them later. People I don't know I'll help out if I have the time and am in the right mood. What I'm saying is that there's more to this community than just critique exchanges.
Great to hear that there's a tight-knit community here for proper dialogue. I'm definitely looking for critiques on my writing, but also to create bonds with folks who'll eventually be brutally honest about my work. Haha.
Hey, so sorry to bump this thread up, but I've met these requirements, yet I'm still unable to post a segment of my short story.
you only went over 20 posts in the last hour or so... the forum software can take a little while to catch up...let us know if you're still locked out in a couple of hours time
Okay, thanks! I was just trying to hop back on board after a while to meet the requirements so I could post this little segment of my writing haha.
