By the way everyone, you can contribute to the prize pool (increasing the prize amounts) if you wish: https://www.writingforums.org/donations/10-year-anniversary-contest-prize-pool.3/campaign

Needless to say this is totally voluntary and the current prizes quoted are guaranteed. We just agreed it wouldn't hurt to give the option if anyone felt like contributing.

Also needless to say, if any participants contribute it doesn't increase their chances of winning. We don't know whose entry is whose anyway, and wouldn't take it into consideration if we did!

The banner across the top of my screen states there are 5 days remaining to enter the competition. It's the 24th today and the closing date is the 26th.

I hoped that it would confuse people and some of the last minute entries would miss the deadline.

I'm reliably informed that the banner has been altered.

Two days to go. Gimme more stories!

If you read the contest announcement, this fact is clearly stated there and has been since the announcement for the contest was made.

I'm thinking of entering. Don't know if I'll make the deadline, though.

I'm thoroughly enjoying reading the entries, such a variety of stories. I'm kinda glad I don't have to decide which are the best 3.

Meh, we're not responsible for making sure everyone reads the instructions. They're clear enough.

I know! So many genres, styles and tones. :D

If you mean about the stories, you can comment on them as much as you like in the discussion thread. None of the judges are reading it, so it won't sway our scores :)

Crickets are chirping on that thread. It seems nobody wants to make any comments. As someone who either has or will have entered this contest by the end, I didn't want to be the one to start.

I think it's better to refrain from commenting on any particular story as to not accidentally influence any judge who might read it and get a little colored without noticing.
Besides, once it's over, we will all talk about it for days.
