I've been looking around for suit brands for a while now without any luck. I got this picture in my head of two men sitting in a changing room, one standing up in front of a floor mirror, the other sitting behind him with a bottle of bourbon. They were getting ready for something, and I'm still not sure what. I don't even know where this is taking me, but we'll see. Anyway, I'll get to the point. What are some semi-expensive suits brands? When I say semi-expensive I mean above average but below exclusive, i.e something a well-off business man would wear to a party. Tuxedos are welcome as well.
Are there other brands? Preferably a little more expensive. And with a shorter name - something stylish, smooth.
Brooks Brothers Burberry There must be many, many others, but that's all I've got. Actually, I Googled, and found an article on "The Best Men's Suits" on Forbes; maybe that will give you more.
Armani suits are de rigueur, though there seems something a little 90's in mentioning that particular brand. Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabana all have upper end suit lines that will be found at any better men's outfitter.
I think Ralph Lauren suits would be considered semi-expensive because they're 40-50% the price of brands like Armani and Gucci. So Ralph Lauren is a good choice.
The most prestigious here in the UK are hand tailored suits, the most famous being Savile Row ones (but almost every wealthier town has something similar). Savile Row is a posh street with tailors who make bespoke suits for all the aristocracy, royals, wealthy businessman, Temple lawyers and judges, basically, much higher quality than what you'd get in ready to wear Armani or Hugo Boss, for example. In those shops, they stock finest italian shoes, cashmere vests and shawls and coats, tailor made shirts, tuxedos, one stop shop for the swanky gentleman. My husband had a couple of suits made there last year, they fit like a glove and make him look really expensive. Have a look at an overview of Savile Row best tailors, might give you an idea of how it all works.
For the sake of courtesy: I am reading each and every post in this thread, so don't think your suggestions are going for granted.
