    Sunday's weekly word count

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by sprirj, May 3, 2015.

The purpose of this thread to to give some motivation to writers and also a timeline of your work. I've found it hard to keep track of what I write and often my commitment slips, so this is my solution, and I'd welcome everyone else to post their weekly word count here. You can measure yourselves against other members, hang your head in shame when your word count falls off, or pat yourself on the back for maintaining momentum.

This week I've written 1328 words.

I don't know about the whole week, but today I've written about 1,000. Yesterday I wrote around 700. Something like 650 the day before that. So let's call it 4,000 for the week. I try to write around a thousand words a day for practice, but I don't always hit that number, unfortunately.

Currently, I'm writing to see if an idea I had and then discarded might still have possibilities (because it keeps nagging at me). I generally don't fuss about word count as a signpost of progress, but in my current situation it is especially irrelevant.

This week I've written approx 30 pages on one WIP (that I aim to finish today), and I've spent time researching and planning for another project.

This week it's just over 1000 words. My excuse is I've had a surprisingly good/busy week, and my brain had to deal with a whole lot more than normal.

3,300+ words for Sunday, too lazy to count them all :p. Several poems, a Short Story and a Fable were finished. For the overall week, maybe around 4,000 or so.

Wow I wish I could do that. This week has been pretty grim for me...

    9 words

This week has been all over the place and dealing with other external bits and pieces. Still, regretting the output.

There's an entire subforum dedicated to this already in existence: Progress Journals.
