    Switching the narrative perspective

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Razvi, Jan 30, 2019.

    Hello,

I want to ask for your opinion about switching the perspective from narrating in the first person to narrating in the third person? Is that okay? If yes, how could I do it smoothly?

    Thank you :)

Can you clarify why you want to use first person instead of just switching between different characters in third person?

What is the reason? (I'n not asking anything about plot here.)

What that would give to a reader?

I'm not entirely clear what you mean. Do you mean you intend to contain both perspectives within the same story? Or do you mean you've written the story in first person, and now wish to rewrite it in third?

If you're planning to use both in the same story, here's an article about doing just that:

I'm attempting to form a link here with another one, but it's not quite working ...give me a minute....

    Try again.
Nope, not working. I'll do another post.

    Post number two!

Here is a list of novels that have used this perspective (some are classic and some are contemporary.)
