    % symbol in running text

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by dillseed, May 19, 2014.

Is it okay to use the % symbol in running text, or should it be used only in charts and graphs? 1, 2, or 3 preferred below? I like #1.

    1. There was a 10% increase in crime last year.

    2. There was a 10 percent increase in crime.

    3. There was a ten percent increase in crime.

    Thank you. :)
