Would anyone be willing to read and critique my draft synopsis? It's 1300 words / three pages of A4, double spaced. Most UK agents ask for a synopsis rather than a query, or in addition to a query, and it will probably decide whether they request the partial/full manuscript or not. What I want to know is: If any details could be cut (condensing 110k words into 1300 is hard...) If any parts don't make sense What you think the tone of the book is, based on the synopsis Do the characters seem sympathetic Does anything just seem wrong I'd also like to know if you think an agent would be interested enough to request the full manuscript, but I know most people on this forum wouldn't be interested in a romance. I'd still like to hear your thoughts and will try to filter them through a romance reader's perspective. Obviously if you are a romance reader, bonus! Since it shows the ending of the novel and all the secrets that will come out, I'd like to do it over PM rather than publicly. Thanks in advance!
Id be happy to take a look. I'm feeling a little unimaginative today, so I'll probably just answer your bullet point questions rather than offering up stuff on my own.
I will take you all up on that! I'm just implementing some changes from the feedback I've had already and then I will send you the revised version to see if I've fixed the problems. Thank you everyone!
@Tenderiser - just sent you a message/review. So sorry that it slipped my mind. I must be getting old LOL.
