Help with a nickname for my antagonist

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by UltimateZero, Jul 15, 2017.

I'm really struggling to create a nickname for my antagonist. He's a rebel leader, who portrays and advertises himself as a man of the people, for the people. He forms a rebellion against the current establishment promising peace, prosperity, fairness, ect, but is much, much worse. He kindles the worst human traits in his followers, greed, rape, murder, and tells them its for the greater good.

The name I thought of was "The Good Man", which I love but can't use. As many of you will know, Stephen King used that name in the Dark Tower, on a character very similar to my own. My character is very different but similar enough that I feel uncomfortable using the name.

I'm deep into my story and still haven't created a good nickname for him. Any advice would be much appreciated. This has been hurting my brain for too long!

    Donald Trump

In all seriousness, it sounds like you need to think of one of his traits which are ostensibly good, but are either not actually present or are used for nefarious purposes, and then use that ironically. From the way you've described him, I'd be tempted with something like "The People Person" or "The Crowdpleaser".

The Paragon, or building off the above, The Man Of The People?

How about calling him Uncle? That word has a positive connotation.

I really like both of these, thanks!

Adding Uncle really does add the emotion I want, not what I was originally aiming for, but I like it!

How about... The butt munching gobstopper. It has a good villainous ring to it.
