    The Simile Game

Discussion in 'Descriptive Development' started by TheHedgehog, Feb 26, 2010.

    The Game:

    1. Write a simile, prefferably an absurd one, to connect the two subjects the person above you has chosen.

    2. Write down two subjects the next person must use in a simile. Can be as similar or as different as you wish.

    3. PLEASE: No more than one post per member on each ten-post page.

    EX:

Person 1: Big Macs and Glue Sticks

    --

Person 2: The petrified beef-but-mostly-filler patty of the Big Mac had the texture of a Glue Stick left under an old woman's couch, without the cap on.

    Cats and Walking Sticks

Get the game? OK, I'll Start...

The walking sticks had grown so much moss, that they looked like lean cats left against a wall, waiting for their prey to pass by.

Motionless, glassy-eyed teens bent over their computers, like road kill along the information superhighway.

A wave of fire rushed over the landscape, like the waters of a river.

The iced tea had dried up so much, it looked like baby powder that had been liquefied.

The great Caesar lay bleeding on the ground, wondering why he felt like a giant pink beluga whale. Stupid LSD. It was all Brutus' fault...

Hannibal had just felt as if he had just drank a couple bottles of grapefruit juice, yet it was the several pints of blood of his neighbor, who managed to say before his demise, "hey there Mr. Lec-AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!"

    Second lighthouse: ........No.
Quark: I felt that way once.

Robespierre hungrily unzipped the face of his vacuum cleaner to inspect it for lice - at that precise moment it occurred to him that the vacuum looked just like a dead Italian mobster might look like while he was pasteurizing cocaine and galantly wearing a pair of Charlie Chaplin overalls.

the fourteen lampshades were liquefied and condensed into what looked like an ounce of olive oil. and proceeded to be pasteurized and smoked in a hookah.

The speeding tractor-trailer splattered the badger across the pavement like stringy salsa on a black tortilla.

    wow...that takes skill...

the smoke hovered around the room like the reverberations a minor double diminished chord (doesnt exist...) of a musical concert band.

He walked towards the balcony and finally found her, wearing only her long black hair, floating in the twinkling swimming pool awash with the last of the red-orange rays of the setting sun, just like a framed renoir painting she so adored.

The cab had something strange about it; it had the correct color, the correct shape and it even came with its usual migrant driver. But it had a weird aura of efficiency, of diligence. She peered through the window and saw the driver had a model smile and thick sculptural biceps under a perfectly ironed shirt. He had the fake perfect look of a Calvin Cline underwear poster.

He tried to speak, but he was so filled rage that his words sounded like the squawking of an untrained parrot.

The bread tasted like a baked block of sulphur, heated to 400 degrees, and roasted to perfection. Except for the fact it was sulphur.

As she approached a petrol car the hit-and-run teen driver scrambled in her purse for her lip-glow and applied on her trembling lips like applying a Tide to Go pen to hide a stain.

And Chaos crossed the diamond portal, calling all stares to her overwhelming presence. Ugly as a sunset, dark as the sun and with piercing, dreamy eyes, black as the purest white.

A loud crash was heard from outside, and the young girl jumped. Another clap of thunder sounded and a flash of lightning illuminated the entire family room. By now, this was too much for the girl. She scurried under the family room couch so fast she looked like a squirrel trying to protect it's nuts from an intruder.

Damn that was bad. It's too early for me! :p

Though it tried to hide, the moose was shot down like a cookie that, though hidden in a cookie jar, can't stay out of the grasp of verocious little toddler hands for long.

He tugged, pulled, strained, and labored at the lid of the jam jar, his face getting red as adrenaline flooded his system, his pores doing little to stem his sweat, and his muscles tearing and giving way to oblivion, until finally the lid exploded away from its parent jar, like Dumbo the flying elephant discovering his majestic hidden power just before impacting the dooming ground.

The soup ladle was angry, as the cook was always given the credit for who made the soup, never the ladle, like the singer in a band with an electric bass guitar.

The dictionary was like a phone. In the sense that the asylum inmates had lost phone privileges, and had resorted to the illusion that the dictionary was a phone.

The radio was buzzing like a fly-trap in June.

    Spoon and moon landing.
