Text To Speech To Robots Doing Radio

Discussion in 'Writing Software and Hardware' started by Bakkerbaard, Dec 24, 2020.

I just had an electric voice called Caroline read out a bit of my story to me in a lovely English accent for the first time ever and I started wondering.
Is there TTS software that allows me to put a voice to specific parts of text?
Like a voice for character 1, voice for narration, you get the gist of it.

I doubt it's gonna help my writing in any constructive way, but I'm just curious. At the very least it should be hilarious.

    Way, way out there
If there is (and I don't know) I imagine you'd have to write it out in almost script style, so you always identify each speaker before their line. Possibly that could be done in some kind of code that isn't part of the story though. Sorry, I'm just thinking out loud.
