TMW a day or so after Photobucket demands $400 to let you show your pictures to other people, they send you an email inviting you to buy coffee from some sort of Amazon knockoff they're trying to start. Srsly?
TMW your older (60-something) very liberal colleague reveals, through some online locker-roomish joking, that he is still very much a product of his times. I guess he'd never heard of pegging before.
TMW when Iain yet again reminds you to get your photos off Photobucket. Thank you for this public service. P.S. Have you found a way to mass download images? I'm poking around and can't see anything obvious...
Haven't had time yet, but I think you can download full albums as zip files, although some people are complaining that they're coming in corrupted.
TMW you've completed your biannual "drinks with co-workers" event to convince them that you're not a complete asshole (even though, in context, you probably are) and you want nothing so much as to get the fuck out and back home...
The moment you return home in the morning and 'drunk prick' has spray-canned the entire house. But, we did it. With white paint and thinners, nothing shall defeat us, the 'so-called' parents. Only the outline of a swastika over my desk.
TMW you realise you've not written anything worthwhile since starting your new job two weeks ago.... must find more time (tbh its less stressful and less time consuming, its just that being new theres a shit loads of stuff to pick up)
TMW you notice members strolling through really old threads and wonder what took them to those remote hinterlands.
Personally I like to read back into the old stuff from time to time - just hit scroll and randomly pick a page from ten years ago.... historical research for the digital age ( I try not to post on it though as its confusing when necro threads spring back into being) also TMW you wonder if Wrey is stalking your specifically, or if its just that the great oz knows all and sees all
If you click on the little arrow between the numbers it scrolls really fast so you can wind up on like page 58 ( I was bored okay)
generally a forum - take general writing or plot development or whatever back 100 pages and see what people were talking about back in the mists of time....
Whoa. I just found a post from 2007 with the poster asking if s/he could send submissions on CD instead of "the traditional printed out pages". That was only ten years ago!
You can also reverse-search a subforum. I do it all the time in my never-ending task of emptying out the General Writing subforum in the upper quarter of the forum. Just click into a subforum and at the top of the page where it says Start Date, click those words (it's a button) and it will rearrange threads ascending or descending (just look at the arrow) by when they were started rather than by their last reply.
When I first joined we were balls deep in paranormal romance. The forum citizenry was also generally much younger in those early days. Flame wars were about team Jacob vs. team Edward. No one talked about politics. No one.
Is that bear like Paddington, or a bear like wreybies ? Also (and I know I'm going to regret asking this) how do these dating games work... do they just simulate a little moonlight a little dancing, or do they also...ahem... simulate the part where you get down and dirty at the no tell motel ? (and if its the latter is it like text sex with your computer or does it require special attachments ??)
where do they get emptied too ? is there a special room 101 for old threads that only ascended beings have access to ?
Into the other subforums in that section of the forum. Occasionally into subforums further down. That one particular subforum - General Writing - grew so large that it acquired a kind of gravity, pulling in everything that comes close to its gravitational well. "Oh, this looks like the busy subforum. I'll post my thread here even though my thread title clearly says "need help with plot development". At this point I have now literally moved thousands of threads from that subforum to where they actually belong. This past Friday, General Writing was at 9508 threads, today...
Holy shit .... have you considered nuking general writing in its entirety... given that pretty much every facet is covered by the others
