That moment when you get home from work and change into your pajamas, even though it's still light outside.

TMW you're teaching your sister how to drive and she almost kills you during a u-turn. Apparently, "SLOW DOWN, SLOW DOWN, SLOW DOWN!" means swerve and slam harder on the gas narrowly avoiding a head on collision.

TMW you typo 'but that' and end up saying 'butt hat' instead.

Always makes me snicker. I'm twelve.

I also manage to do 'to the' as 'tot he' a lot, presumably just because (like 'butt hat') those are both real words, so spellcheck's not gonna catch'em.

    If it...makes you feel better...

TMW I find a video about how to determine the sex of a cat and realize that I actually had no clue.

TMW you are working on a Rom story, and the female lead calls her work
partner smooth as 12 grit sandpaper.

Would that be a good description for someone who is not smooth?
Just hope that it isn't too specific.

TMW you find yourself wondering how the Trump thread could ever be anything but a shitfest. Also, TMW you congratulate yourself for the umpteenth time for avoiding it like it was a bag of rattlesnakes.

It'd work fine. The roughest grade of sandpaper commonly sold is 40-grit, so if someone is like 12-grit (or 10; these grades all end in 0), we'll knew he's REALLY abrasive.

Though '12 grit sandpaper' does suggest a DIY store background for your character, or a scene in the builders' merchants. 'Smooth as sandpaper' might be easier on the eye, or flypaper, 'smooth as stubble?' Thinking on..

It's not always a shitfest or a bag of rattlesnakes. I've had some pretty satisfying and reasonable conversations it's just that it always has melting point moments now and then.

Thank you. Though they do make 12 grit, so I should be fine
in my alt-universe Rom. (Adds a touch of humor) :)

TMW when your older sister lets fly with an expletive you don't even use yourself, even though you swear like sailor...because Sis has been binge watching The Sopranos.

... the self-serve checkout at the supermarket fails to read the barcode AND doesn't detect the item when you drop it in your bag, and you get two for the price of one.

Some would call this theft. I call it reimbursement for their inflated prices!

TMW when Homes sends me to Google because I don't speak Italian...

(I guessed the first one correctly, not the second--yikes, won't be using that one--and got the third one right.)

On the bright side, I've learned to swear in two languages today and it's not even 1PM, so not a bad Sunday so far.

The first amendment doesn't cover the right to spout bollocks in a private forum. Its about the govt not making laws that abridge freedoms , not the right to say whatever you like wherever you like.
