TMW you are listening to The Bleeding (Album) by Cannibal Corpse and see this in the comments: "....very wholesome and family friendly." You hear that Mom and Dad, Cannibal Corpse is just as good as Jefferson Starship, The Who, and the Beatles.
That moment you discover your Saturday style villain for your heroes in another novel to fight. Too the journal. edt: Or a Super Hero story. depending on how it goes.
That moment when you realize that Fox owned M.A.S.H., but Disney bought Fox, which means that Klinger could very well be a Disney Princess.
, You do realize that Klinger was just trying to get a discharge and later comes around after Radar leaves. God I am a nerd.
TMW.. you are unsure if the people in your book are unrealistically, overly nice (to a point) or just don't have their heads up their asses, sniffing their own shit. I think the latter, because there are moments... and My MC, Kristol does some pretty... uh... how do we say not so nice things... like killing a general during a duel when she didn't have to, enslaving the Warden of Hell despite her hatred for slavery, and constantly wanting to kill both her rival, Tyrius and the main antagonist of the series, King Eres (again not to be confused with main villain), who is the driving force behind the events that take place through out the course of the book, leading up to meeting the actual villains of the series.
Duality is awesome drama. The innocent adventurer, has immature violent impulses. The morally grounded compromise their values for a greater good. Innocense overreacting to a valid threat. Draaaama.
TMW the fake* yokozuna Kisenosato finally retires. *Yokozuna (grand champion) is the highest rank in the sport of sumo, and the only one from which a wrestler can never be demoted. Prior to Kisenosato, the last Japanese yokozuna was Takanohana, who retired in 2003. To be promoted to the rank, a wrestler formerly needed to win two basho (tournaments) back-to-back. However, the string of five foreign-born champions caused the Japan Sumo Association to lower the bar for promotion in hopes of picking up one of the upper-ranked Japanese wrestlers who was never quite able to score a second consecutive championship. This was due to the fact that one of the current yokozuna, a Mongolian named Hakuho, is statistically the best wrestler in the over two-hundred-year history of the sport. He holds the records for making it very hard, if not impossible, for anyone else to beat him at a tournament level twice in a row. So the JSA decided to change the requirements from "two consecutive championships" to "two consecutive championships or the equivalent," with no exact definition of what the equivalent was. They were hoping to promote Kisenosato from ozeki, the second-highest rank, to yokozuna based on the fact that he was Hakuho's kryptonite, having stopped the yokozuna in his run to have the most consecutive match victories in sumo history. However, another Mongolian, Kakuryu, was able to fulfill "the equivalent" before Kisenosato did, and was promoted first. As yokozuna go, his record has been lackluster, but Kisenosato finally was granted promotion in 2017. He won his first tournament as a yokozuna, which is rare, but got injured and proceeded to sit out part or all nine of the next ten tournaments, fully completing only one in two years, before losing his first three matches of the January 2019 basho and announcing his retirement. A classic case of being promoted beyond one's ability, in this case to satisfy the racist group of old men who control the sport.
Just out of interest, @Iain Aschendale, do they have weight classes in sumo? Or do you basically have to weigh 500 pounds before anyone takes you seriously? There should be flyweight sumo tournaments where the weight limit is 120 pounds or so. There'd probably be a lot more participation.
Nope, everybody is in the same class. There are two divisions, but generally guys start out in the lower division and as they gain experience, age, and weight have the opportunity based on their fighting record to move up to the upper division. There was one guy from Czech, Takanoyama (all wrestlers, regardless of their nationality or race, take Japanese names. These are decided in conjunction with their stablemasters, who are basically coaches/managers). Takanoyama had two nicknames, one was Czechoyama, playing on his nationality. He was a decent wrestler, but had trouble breaking the 100kg mark which put him at a disadvantage against the bigger guys, so he eventually retired. I mentioned two nicknames, didn't I? The second was Puriketzu, which basically means "cute butt." I'll leave that decision to the jury: There's a video floating around of him on youtube titled something like "Muscular WHITE MAN DESTROYS fat sumo wrestlers." It's bullshit, a compilation of most of his wins and none of his many losses. He wasn't bad, but he was never really a contender, and took his knocks with good grace. That having been said, the truly fat guys are often not very good, relying on weight more than technique, and there's a hell of a lot of technique in sumo. Here's a compilation of Hakuho, the aforementioned best wrestler in history. Look at how many different ways he takes his opponents down:
that moment when you realise you are going to be a precarious gig-taker living off daddy's credit card for the majority of your life while "writing"
TMW when you realise its time to stop writing for the day - principally because you just misspelled author and then struggled to correct it
I know this feeling all too well!! Are we to keep on hitting the enter button what do you mean to hit backspace
Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Why I not get through My MC's mothers death without tearing up. I must have gone over it several times by now and every damn time, I tear up. WTF!!!! Edit: Freak'n funeral scenes... it also doesn't help (or maybe it does) that it is cold and raining heavily right now.
Feeling ya. I still can't get through mine either, maybe cause I didn't intend it to be so intense. Cold and Grey always gets me.
I mean... she is only in the first book, that is 1/4 of the story, not including the possible prequel, Constantine's Quest and of course the follow up books 'Eagle-Dragon War' and 'Empress Nina'
TMW... you forget what the fifth sense is! Sight, Hearing, Touch, taste... . And upon looking it up, find it to be smell. . Which it would make scents since I have no sense of smell. So of course it would be the one I forget. LOL.
That moment you have a dream your in the Ferrari Lamborghini going about a hundred fifty your dog is outpacing you like you're standing still
