Hey, I never used this forum, but hey, it seems a fun way to pick myself up. So current progress: Finished by first draft and put my story on the critique boards. After a frustrating encounter with one critter who thought it was more akin to fanfiction style writing than real writing, more reviews have come in and they have been much more positive. I just found a new grammar checker that is very good at catching all my use of passive voice and wrong word choices. Some people have said I have poor spelling, but after running the story through four spell checks, I'm not sure exactly what they mean. I know without the aid of spell checks, I can be pretty lousy, but I don't know what to make of it. I'm not going to dismiss their comments as nonsense, because that's not something people just say.
