Been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 for the last couple of days. It's amazing, although I suppose I've played more in-game poker than the actual game.
Finally got Hyrule Warriors working on my PC. I like Zelda and I like Dynasty Warriors, so this is a nice addition to my collection.
Been playing Age Of Wonders Planetfall. It's like a mix of civilisation with xcom's combat set in a semi-deconstructionist 1980s pulpy sci-fi setting. It's not got the same action-style camera as xcom, but the gameplay is pretty similar in combat. Also you can play as space dwarfs, which is always good.
Fallout and Subnautica are sci-fi, and Dynasty Warriors and Kingdom Come: Deliverance are historical fiction.
Is that the one for DOS? If we're counting DOS games, I vote for Sam and Max Hit The Road and I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. Both are point and click puzzle games. Then there's Planetfall, a text based adventure. All of which I sank way too many hours into when I was younger.
Fallout 4 Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided Half-Life and Half-Life 2 FreeSpace BioShock System Shock 2 (the psychic powers and telepathic mutant hive mind in this one probably cross the line a little into science fantasy)
Can't hangout with my bud (outside), being sick an all, so we're gonna play some games instead. Bringing out the old PS2 to play some SOCOM. Afterwards, Borderlands. Fun times ahead. So long as I keep my mask and gloves on. Don't want to get anyone sick.
On a bit of a vampire kick right now, playing Vampyre after buying it during a publisher sale, Pretty good and interesting game, a few rough spots but it`s double a and they don`t really ruin the experience much. Still enjoyable, there is a bit of a awkward moment doing the pacifist run while still having to kill vampire hunters but....self defense I guess. As someone who plays RPGS out of a love for the role playing aspect and putting myself into the characters shoes the whole system with feeding on people or choosing not to feed, and curing them makes it interesting.
I finished Valkyria Chronicles 4, it was fun. Second best in the franchise, but not as good as the first. Halcyon 6 also was fun, for anyone who is a fan of retro old school. A kind of a mix between Xcom, Final Fantasy and Master of Orion. Now I'm torn between "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice", "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Ni no Kuni".
I know I’ve commented before on how everyone seems to play fantasy games on this forum, but I’ve also noticed a massive trend for PC over console.
There's something to be said for being able to switch directly from our word processors to video games when we feel uninspired
