Bragging about it here or elsewhere probably isn't the best idea either.

the bottom line on this is that domain name speculation is legal, but cyber squatting isnt ... cyber squatting is defined as acquiring domains with the intent to profit from reselling them when they relate directly to the trademark of others.

in this case if time warner alledge and prove that they own the trademark to kingkong vs godzilla , and owned it when you registered the domain then a court will order it released... also bearing in mind that time warner have much better lawyers and a far greater resource than you do

Can they really do that? Because people "squat" on sites all the time.

They'd spend more time and money paying their lawyers to file the paperwork than they could just get the site from me. I'm pretty sure Time Warner doesn't "own" the rights to either of those characters.

I got 'Longlisted' for the FISH memoir contest which is almost good, I am almost happy, well, I am mainly disappointed. What do I do with the story now, and is longlist for Fish Publishing a scalp, credit against my incredible CV list of achievements: a runner-up/an honorary 3rd place/an all round loser usually. Does that last sentence make any sense, and how happy should I be?

My bf has agreed to do the washing up after meals! That's huge to me considering I do all the cooking around the place (and we rarely eat out because of his allergies).

All right, good news and bad news.

Bad news, my AC adapter is totally dead.

Good news, I ordered a new one from Amazon.com and it should be in my hands within a week. :D

I was fine with doing 90% of the housework when I worked less than half the hours I am contracted to now. But now that I'm working 40 hours a week it was distinctly less fair.

Yep. I read up more about it and it is a fine line. Squatting seems to be a bit difficult when it comes to particular things. Worst case I'm out the $14 to register the site. C'est la vie. Someone else owns the sites GodzillavsKingKong.com and GodzillavKong.com So I'm guessing I'm not the only one that had the idea.

Heigh ho, heigh ho, it's back to work I go.....

Long vacations sound wonderful, but three months off in the cold, with regular part-time evening work to keep you in town, can be a drag....

^ I love American baseball, and to hell with anyone who doesn't. (You don't get to tell me what I can or cannot like. :supermad:)

Finally got my ass to writing my sci-fi. [IMG] Wrote the last part of Chapter One first so now I have a good way to start it. And don't worry, I promise I won't write it in such a way that it looks like erotica.
