Self-fertilizing trees! But,“the true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.” (Nelson Henderson)
A little bird just told me that our own @Lew's self published novel about ancient Rome and China (The Eagle and the Dragon) has just won the Maryland Writer's Association's Book of the Year Award. And well deserved that is, too. Congratulations, Lew.
Well. this next week is going to be... interesting. the husband and I are having a lady friend over. She's staying with us for a week of vacation. She used to have a bit of a crush on me, and currently has a massive crush on my husband. TBH, she's a bit too femme for me, and a bit too submissive. But I've always felt this weird kinship with her. We've fooled around a bit before. And it looks like things might developing into sort of a... triad-ish situation. Guess we'll see. It's probably nothing serious, but either way it'll be a nice week. I like my life. It's not perfect, but it's certainly been interesting. EDIT: Husband and I are doing a lot better, btw. Happy about that, too. Cuddling in bed right now.
I started a youtube channel a while back (which has basically taken over my life) and it just hit the 10k views mark. Also, there is very little more terrifying than bringing your words to life with other peoples voices and having people hear it.
I am happy that I went to go see the new Tomb Raider movie, and it didn't suck. It's the small things in life
What kind of cow? Is she a good milker, once her calf is provided for? Hurray for raw milk, and butter, and cheese!
I want a cow, but it'll have to wait. It would be a pet cow and not used for milk production because I don't want to keep breeding it. __ The chicken's still alive and we're getting a second opinion next week on her leg. Her tendon appears to be in the right place. So, the good news is is that she's alive, eating, drinking, and not in pain.
I had writers block since September and yesterday managed to break through and take my WIP from 48k to 50k! Here’s hoping this will keep going....
I too have hit the right amount of shitty nasty mood to go and continue my saga of mutilation and mayhem. Hopefully I will make it to the literal 'eye for an eye' point in the story.
Thanks, Jan, you were an enormous help in bringing that to life! Oh yes, @K McIntyre won a recliner in the MWA raffle, and it fit in our car, so overall a fantastic weekend!
Annie is a Dexter, so she could have enough milk to share, but she isn't really tame enough to be milked. So, no cheese and butter for now, but maybe when baby grows up... My other cow is Aussie and she's 15 years old, so strictly a pet now. All that's required of her is to make "fertilizer", so that I can grow more hay to feed her, so that she can make more fertilizer, so that...
That's all my cow would be required to do. When we get goats, that's all they'll be required to do, too.
Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve very good news to impart: The stoma hole in my gut is, for all intents and purposes, closed. There’s a sliver-slit of a hole, but it’s nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Spoiler: potentially graphic image
"Now remember young man, you know better than to play COD with live ammunition." On the cereal, glad to hear you are mending nicely.
The NH state liquor stores are doing one of their spend $150 and get a $25 gift card promos this month. Needless to say, I left with three gift cards.
18,011 words in my fantasy. Two, three different openings, poorly organized with huge gaps everywhere. Oh well. Guess that’s the point of first drafts.
