Don't think I own a white tie anymore. Wearing a purple and maroon paisley tonight with a gold clip. And a spilled something on it. I think it's ketchup. (Sniffs) Nope. Maybe demi glace?
I own a suit of Advanced Power armor, as you can tell from my profile pic. I do sport a magnetic bow tie, however... gotta look good when you are wiping out wastlanders.
Oh, I get it - the bow tie disguises you as a clown to amuse your enemies while you gun them down! Good tactic! If they're laughing, they're probably not shooting back.
Thank you, sir!!! I enjoy deceiving my enemies. It's coming in the mail next week, ordered the Dark Angels color scheme.
Sometimes it doesn't take much. My computer monitor (my beloved Formac Oxygen) has been glitching and flickering a bit over the past few weeks. Going off at odd times, and needing a shake or two to restore. I've only had it in constant use for about 9 years, and I was about to give up on it. Poor old thing. But today, while crawling around on the floor prior to hoovering beneath the desk, I discovered that one of the plugs had come slightly loose from one of the little boxes that sits on the floor there. I pushed it in quite firmly. Acting on a hunch, I followed the cord through spaghetti junction and yep, that was the box that led from the surge protector that led to the box that led to the wire that led to the converter that led to the computer and also split off and connected up to my monitor! And the monitor has now stopped glitching and flickering. Yay!!! Another 9 years. I get another 9 years. Wireless? Nah. Just keep the thing plugged in!
Almost home! I'm not entirely happy about it, but since I've been up since 04.30 and it's past six now... getting home, seeing Balt and having a big cup of tea will be great!
I turned sixteen years old today. My friend made me seven cupcakes, and I’ve already eaten four of them. Cream cheese frosting for the win! I had my little celebrations with my dad and then with my girlfriend yesterday. My gf’s sixteenth birthday is two days after mine, so we’ll celebrate hers when I see her next Sunday. My celebration with my mom was just going shopping a bit. My birthday presents, a chest binder and a guitar, will be arriving soon. Just need to teach myself how to put the songs I’ve written into something I can play. It’s only a $100 guitar, since it’s acoustic and electric, but it should earn me some money on the street (alongside some smiles from my girlfriend when I show her the song I wrote her). Overall, pretty good birthday!
My conversation with my crush is going really well. Obviously not "This could lead somewhere" well, but I'm not very good socially and I'm really proud of myself for being able to keep a conversation going without saying something weird or acting clingy. I feel like I've really improved my conversation skills, and I know Facebook Messenger is very different to real life, but I'm really happy and I feel like I've built a kind of rapport with her.
TMW you never know when to laugh because Dap just almost gave you an unintentional spit take, high five Dap because it's so damn relatable, or send Dap a big hug. Maybe all three: 1. (With you, not at you.) 2. *High five* 3. @EstherMayRose
Today is my Grandma-not-Grandmas birthday. 94 today, yesh, I dunno if they make em as tough as this little lady anymore. We're eating with her in five minutes to celebrate.
Grandma-not-Grandma? There's a story there that I must have missed... In the whirling maelstrom of chunky barf that is my life right now, there is one positive thing: today I was told by a psychotherapist that I might not have PTSD after all (take that, random air force doctor!) and that I just keep getting into situations that leave me suffering from plain old post-traumatic stress. She said 'you're not actually ill, as such; you've just had lots and lots of very bad things happen to you and you need to take some time to look after yourself and unpack it'.
Grandma-not-Grandma: An old Chinese Grandma who is not my blood Grandmother, but is close enough so she's also Grandma. Also, Chinese thing to call people their title, hers was always Grandma.
Ah, I see. That makes sense. Nicknames are a great thing. Everyone should have one. There are guys I knew for years whose real names are still unknown to me and that's kind of cool, if a pest for sending christmas cards. I've had loads. I've got one just now that's pretty cool (if you're a nerd like me) which must remain secret lest any random colleagues come on here. My partner has two- one that everyone else uses and that I use in public, and one that I only use in private. It's not smutty, but it does sound like I'm being horribly disrespectful and abusive towards her. Thing is, it only sounds like that in English, but it's actually a word in her first language which is a sort of punny reference to her hair colour and her favourite film, so she loves it.
