I just found out what's on my next paycheck!

The last month of work + my vacation pay = some serious money in the bank

Almost makes me forget how I'm unemployed...

After a most challenging and industrious day of super beach management I was underwhelmed by our woman visitor:

‘This place is wonderful...and I just wanted to thank you guys sincerely...’

    ‘Yis.’

‘...for fixing the hand dryer in the ladies lavatory.’

    [don't post this, don't, no]

I'm back at uni! I've got a brand new studio flat with no whingeing flatmates, and I've cooked in my new kitchen and I've made up my new bed, and I've unpacked most of my stuff in a fraction of the time it took me last year. I'm so excited and I can't wait to make this year a success in every way last year wasn't. And now I've bullied the internet into co-operating and it's time to do one of my favourite things: sitting on my bed listening to music on YouTube! (IIRC, my first post on this thread was this time last year, for the same reason.)

I've just spent a tonne of money on takeaway! On the one hand, I can hear my bank account screaming in pain, but on the other, my dining table looks like a flipping buffet.

Also, I've discovered that I can reach my fridge-freezer from my bed.

Home-made lasagne for dinner! And plenty left to freeze for next time. Now I am basking in my success. (Although, considering how long it took me, I should probably bask in my success in bed.)

I'm cold!!! For this first time since June I'm cold!!! Granted, I'm wearing shorts and a tank top, but it's so glorious being cold, I hesitated to reach for a hoodie until about five minutes ago.

And yes, I know it won't last (Halloween is often hot as hell here), but in the moment, I'm thoroughly enjoying this.

Edit: Would having a cup of hot chocolate be a bridge too far? Hmmm...

Hot chocolate is never a bridge too far. Especially not one with whipped cream and marshmallows.

I'm gonna go for it! It'll probably be hot as hell again in a few days, so... carpe d'chocolat! (Yes, I just made up a hybrid language...)

Miramar air show was pretty good this year. First time seeing the RAF Red Arrows and really liked their show. Also awesome to see all my WWII favorites majestically displayed. This year had less explosions, but was definitely more intricate and elegant. As an added bonus I got into the press area for the Blue Angel's show, so I had an excellent view. Great time this year with the partly cloudy skies.

Well the espresso machine shit the bed tonight. Good. I hate that fucking thing. Can't turn tables when guests are lingering for cappuccinos.

Yeah, but now they'll do what I do and linger over regular coffee at a lower cost. :D

That's what you get for letting it out of the kitchen.

Steam burns are no fun, but I'd prefer them on what's exposed in the kitchen to the bed or toilet. Just sayin'

Piss on the floor would have been more accurate... and profusely at that. The thing prob costs an easy $15k. Personally, I've never seen the point of them. Maybe in an Italian joint, but for us it's a waste of money. Whatever. I ain't paying the bills in this shithole.
