"Only that you perform ritual Japanese suicide." Seven said coldy, "But I doubt you'll do that, so we'll just settle with wishing for Maya's freedom. along with our own freedom."

    Xin:

Torg twirled a blade in his palm, blood-red eyes meeting The Captain's fearlessly, but he was well aware of the guards and made it obvious he was only playing with it. "Will that be a problem?"

Eudoxia looked stood staring cold at the Captain and then though about his teammates around him. They all probably so hardly resembled badasses. He smiled just a bit, though he was angry, doing this to Maya, and also what he had turned Lylin into was cold and heartless.

Edo reached in his pockets and had one MicroBot held in his closed hand, so no one could see it, just in case the Captain felt like making a move.

"Maya's freedom? You wish to take my property as your own?" The Captain inquired. He seemed amused by the idea. He took a long draw on his cigarette before answering. "Well, I was just going to kill her anyway, and if that's all you want...then you can have it. Tank," The Captain turned to one of the pirates. "Escort our new champions off the sky base and back to the planet surface. It's doubtful they'd survive there for very long anyway."
Tank moved and that's when Mason noticed a electronic map behind him. That map very likely contained the location of the crystal cavern they were searching for. Without it, they'd be wandering the volcanic surface blind. He glanced over at his comrades. Had they noticed? They had to come up with a plan to distract the Captain and his guards long enough to get a look at the map. And they had to do it fast.

    Xin_Torg:

Torg bumped shoulders with Mason flicking his eyes momentarily at the map. A smirk crossed Xin's/Torg's face and he pretended to bump into one of the guards, tripping and tumbling to the floor.

"Hey! Watch where yer going!" he growled, standing up and getting in the guard's face.

The guard growled back and pushed Xin back with the butt of his gun. "Back up punk!" He said. Mason guestured to Seven. With the guards concentrating on the confrontation between Xin and Seven, now was the perfect opening to get a look at the map.

Edo was highly confused about what was going on his surroundings, why did they just spontaneously react so strangely. But then he realized, they didn't seem to have the same anger that they did previously. It was weird.

He realized they must have been faking it, but why? He looked over to the map behind the three. They must have been going for that. Edo hadn't been informed about the plan, so he decided to stay out of it. He just watched what would happen and kept his MicroBot clutched in his hand just in case he would have to attack someone quickly.

Seven took a quick peek memorizing it's contents in a second then nudged Mason to show she was done.

Mason nodded a thankyou to Seven then grabbed Xin's shoulders. "Ok, Xin. Let's leave the Captain alone before he changes his mind."

    -----------------

The group was flown down to the volcanic surface and left there per the Captain's orders. Commander Sharp quickly attached an extra oxygen mask on Maya's face so she would be able to breathe as well. "Well done, Shadow Squad. I'm proud of the way you worked so well together." The Commander commended. "Alright, Seven. Can you lead us to the Crystal Cavern from here?" Seven replied in the affirmative and the squad began following her.

An hour later the jumpers crested a small hill. Before them lay an opening in a cliff side. Colorful lights seemed to shine from inside. "Looks like this is it." Mason said. He patted Seven on the back. "Nice job, Seven."
"What are we doing here?" Maya asked.
"We need to retrieve a diamond in order to exchange it for something we need." The Commander replied. "Let's go. Keep your eyes open."

    ---------------

The cavern was much larger than it had appeared from the outside. Jewels of all kinds lined the walls and lit up the place like a rainbow. Emeralds, rubys, sapphires..but no diamonds. "Wow! It's beautiful!" Maya exclaimed, plucking a ruby from the dirt wall.
"Yeah, it is." Mason agreed. "But I don't see any diamonds anywhere."
"Let's go in further. There's bound to be some deeper within." Commander Sharp said.
Shadow Squad ventured further into the cave and came upon a three way split. It was impossible to see to the end of any of the tunnels from their vantage point. "Which way?" Maya asked.

Eudoxia looked around at the many sights. The inside of this cave was astonishing, and took his breath away. The company of Maya was just adorable, she was such an innocent young girl, though she was different prior to her freedom.

Edo noticed that they had come down to an area that offered multiple paths. He took out his glass tablet and on it his spread his fingers. His MicroBots soon flew down each path. "They'll scan for the right path." Eudoxia pointed out.

The bot that went down the right tunnel briefly gave readings of a large reptile partway down the tunnel, but seconds later the signal blinked out. The obvious conclusion being that the reptile had destroyed it.
The bot that went down the middle tunnel returned readings of a small cave at the end with a something hanging down from the ceiling and a river of magma flowing right down the center of the cave.
The bot that went down the left tunnel returned readings of another small cave with a object sitting at it's center.

"Well, if we go down the right tunnel, we're going to run into a monster of some sort that can somehow survive in these conditions." Mason commented. "Maybe we check out the left and middle tunnels first. There doesn't seem to be anything alive in them."
"Good observation, Mason." The Commander said. "Eudoxia, Seven and Adwatia. You three team up and choose a tunnel to check out. Mason, Mythai and Xin...you three check the other tunnel. The rest of us will wait here as back up in case one of you guys runs into trouble."

    JUMPER RE-CAP

Shadow Squad is a group of cadets from United Nations Space Program Academy, led by the famous Commander Tina Sharp. After 3 or 4 years of intense training they have been sent out on a top secret mission to retrieve a weapon, on another planet, that could be used against earth. In order to retrieve it they must collect all 4 spheres. Each one has a map leading to the next one.

On the first planet, Hillmar, they met the Hillmar Warriors and the commander’s old master.
On the second planet, Lageria, they met the wisps and were faced with the decision of destroying a ginormous snake named Zalligar, after the Zallins, or letting it continue protecting the Whisps while occasionally eating them. They chose to allow it to continue living, though the decision was difficult, and collected the first sphere.

While on Lageria they also learned about the horrors of the Alien race called the Zallins who went quiet 300 years ago and suddenly returned with a vengeance 100 years later. Their influence and domination started all over again. Strange though, 300 years ago the goal of the Zallin rule had seemed to be they wanted to be the galaxy’s gods. But when they returned, things seemed to change. They demand more things like precious metals and crops. In exchange they gave their most devout followers protection and access to the galactic trade system which succeeded in enriching every planet part of it. Perhaps this time…the galaxy-feared Zallins have gained a heart, though they still don’t hesitate to wipe out a village or city should anyone speak out against them.

The next planet they visited was called Elipsun, composed of knights, ladies and even dragons. Here Shadow Squad learned about titanium. The strongest metal in the galaxy, it’s only weakness being extreme heat and a lot of it. The Zallins desire it but thus far Elipsun's king has refused to trade it. They met with the Dragon Raider leader, Tiash, who was in possession of the next sphere. She told them to go to Thisbe, promising that if they got her a giant crystal she would give them the sphere in exchange.

The Cadets traveled to Thisbe, a volcanic planet. Here they were captured by space pirates and thrown into an arena against their will. While here Shadow Squad saved a young girl, Maya, from the arena. Her abilities: being able to create a copy of any sentient being and their abilities.

NOW: Shadow Squad has returned to Elipsun with crystal in tow. They are setting up camp for the night in a large cave and will meet with Tiash the next day, in an area of their choosing, to trade the crystal for the sphere.

    Captain Mason

Mason sat down on his sleeping bag with a deep sigh. It felt like he hadn't slept in ages. All his muscles were sore from the long walks and intense battles. The cave seemed to go on for ages. Only God knew what lay at the end down there. But why worry about that? They'd set up sensors so if anything tried to approach while they were sleeping alarms would go off. Mason's eyes scanned over his squad mates. They looked like they were feeling the same as he was. Well, most of them anyway. There was something strange going on with Xin. It was like she had changed personalities. The commander obviously noticed but they were out in the middle of the galaxy with no backup or expert medical officer. What could she do?
Then there was Seven. Being a robot she never got tired. If anything she seemed to get more energetic the further they went. Mason's eyes finally rested on their Commander. If she ever got tired, she never showed it. Her face only got more stern. He briefly wondered what from her past made her this way, but he knew better than to ask. What had she been through? How many friends had she seen die?

Well, whatever. I just need some sleep. And so does everyone else.

Eudoxia walked slowly over to where he decided to sleep on the ground. It was not far from the fir, yet it was far enough where he could be warm, but not cold. His purple eyes set on the moon before he laid on the floor. He had no problem with the ground, the insects, the grass, the mud. It was Earth to him, and the Earth has always had science in it. Maybe today he would discover something new and interesting on this new planet. Today had been a strange day.

Going into a tournament, almost seeing his friends die in front of his eyes, and exhausting his body. He needed sleep. Maya seemed like she could be a help in battle, in the near future, but she is so young, should she be forced to fight anymore? This held importance and would be required to discuss. As Edo began to close his eyes, not actually sleeping yet, he though of his robot friend. He wondered if robots understood the concept of sleeping. He then began to think of Adwaita and Myth, they both had almost died today. They all almost died today. He then sighed aloud, today was a long day.
