The Killers Release Day & Age

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Bluemouth, Nov 20, 2008.

Are there any Killers fans out there?

I've just listened through Day & Age and have been blown away. It's probably the greatest album I've ever heard. My expectations were high after reading some good reviews, too. It has such a worldly-sound and is extremely refreshing.

Has anyone else heard it yet? If so, what did you think?

I can't believe I missed this thread! LOL

I'm a huuuge killers fan and I have all of their albums, but Day & Age doesn't release i America for a few days if I'm not mistaken....Yes, it releases in a few days. ( I just checked itunes).

Ive listened to Spaceman and Human and I loved them. I'm really looking forward for it to be released.

Color my silly, but I thought this was another controversy thread. The release of a killer... the date of release... the killer's age....

Lol maybe someone should start something like that, there hasn't been anything controversial on this forum in...

But yeah, cant say im particularly glad to hear this news :( Means i will most likely hear it played over and over again on the speakers at my school :p (though it might mean less Kings of leon :D ). I mean, it was as though Mr Brightside was the most played song in the world for a while there (even though it was ages since it was released).

I don't have the album yet, but I downloaded 3 songs: Spaceman, Human and Neon Tiger. They're truly great! Specially Spaceman. :D

It's possible I have a copy before its official release.

To my surprise, they managed to change their sound very successfully. There are new instruments such as the saxophone featured almost as a solo in some sections, and many of the songs harbour a tropical feel. It's quite amazing that a band which went powerpop on their last album, can bring out something as different as this.

Neon Tiger and Human are great songs, but there are way more!

Goodnight, Travel Well is about as epic as they come. Perfect finish to the album.
