Please recommend a novelist or novel editor who is the main character.

Please recommend a novelist or novel editor or novel Commentator who is the main character. I hope the main character is not just a novelist, but a story that the main character is trying to write. I don't care if it's a fantasy.

I second Secret Window. Though almost all of Stephen King’s main characters are writers.

There is a Goosebumps book called The Blob that are Everyone, which is literally about a story being written, coming to life, then writing itself. I think that’s a common trope that’s RL Stine used, I feel like one of his adult novels “Superstitious” was also like that but I might be mistaken.

Not sure what you're asking. There's a writer named Kinky Friedman whose main character in his series of detective novels is a detective named "Kinky Friedman," a fictionalized version of himself.

And if you're counting screenplays, there's the brilliant "Adaptation" by Charlie Kaufman, brought to the screen by Spike Jonze. It's probably the best movie about screenwriting ever made.
