There is no sadness quite like sitting in an airport bar waiting for a delayed flight and just... Waiting.

Had a root canal done today. I respond very slowly to local anaesthetics. Doctor eventually had to inject me directly into the canal of the tooth.

Imagine Zeus kicking you in the dick, really hard, with his lightning bolt.

    That.

And now if you'll all excuse me, I'll be on a little Percocet vay-kay for the rest of the evening. Ciao...

I assume this will be the reason why we won't see a post by you on "The Happiness Thread".

    Feel better!

I dunno, if hes taking percocet he could be very happy if incoherent, we'll probably see an "I love you guys" post before too long .... I hope they've taken the keys to the forum controls away before he goes in opioid trip :D

If you can still type then you're doing opiates wrong.

That was the chuckle I needed just about now. I have one room in my house with carpet- hard wood everywhere else. Guess where my dog decided to get sick.

    At least you go happy.

And isn't happiness truly the greatest gift of all?

I thought bechamel sauce was supposed to be fairly easy.

Oh well, at least it's getting mixed with the rice today.

I need a new video card, but apparently there's an international video card shortage going on.

I am literally not joking that opiates are super awesome for treating cold and flu symptoms. There's a reason they make codeine cough syrup, you know? And it absolutely will stop you coughing and dry up your sinuses and deal with any pain you might be in.

It has some other less edifying effects too but... If you want to feel better then it really is what you're looking for.

Crystal Meth is also an amazing decongestant and bronchodilator as well.

No, I don't have any form of pain meds in the entire house. Only thing I use these days
is a 4-pack of tall boys. Never had morphine in my entire life.

    It is!

I'm just saying that people figured out how to make them for a reason, you know?

Oh man you are missing out.

Speed is quite dreadful for erections.

    ...

Also, I thought every @LTP essay was opiate driven. Taste of my own disappointment in my mouth, if only.

What direction is this thread going in?!

There is a "shocking theory" that Alice's dreams in Lewis Carol's books were fuelled by cocaine. Well, yeah, do you know what they gave kids as medicine in those days?

    That is not entirely true.

    Mostly? Eh... Mostly true.

There are a handful of things that can spur me to significant acts of wordsmithy with or without opiates in my blood. Things that excite and fascinate and stir my passions can still get me to write at excessive length, they just aren't all that common. The virtues of opiates is one such thing, but there are others. Answers on a post card what other things can actually make me focus :D

    Edit to add -

I can confirm this. All stimulants really.
