My mum thinks I might have meningitis. I don't think I have but now I'm scared. People die from meningitis, don't they?
I'd say to get yourself checked out asap to be on the safe side. It hopefully isn't, but IF it is, the sooner you get examined, the sooner they can start treatment.
Have you done the glass test? To be honest, if you're able to look at a lit screen long enough to post, you probably don't have meningitis.
Yeah, my eyes have stopped hurting now and I don't have a rash, which is why I think I don't have it.
You're suggesting that you have about the worst possible thing for a person of your age. Call 101, talk it through, and a doctor will call you back. However - on a forum I should only really say catch a taxi to A&E. And bearing in mind it's a common 'greatest fear' - like cot death. :/
As far as I can see, you don't have to have a rash. But if you did, that is a later sign. Apparently it can look like a bruise. This article may help. https://www.healthline.com/health/meningitis#rash
Not everybody gets a rash, but nobody with meningitis will be feeling better after a day or two. I mean yeah, seek medical advice, OBVIOUSLY! But personally I wouldn't be panicking.
When I was constipated for 3 months I made that very call. The doctor said I wouldn't die and I slept soundly - but left the construction industry very soon afterward. Chilling.
I may be wrong, but I think I had heard that 6 weeks would clog you enough to kill you...but don't take my word for it. Spoiler Is this conversation really happening?!
I'm imagining it working its way back up the other end in a violent eruption. Which would explain a lot of politicians. Spoiler No. We're just the voices in your head. KILL, FLAWED, KILL.
Your mum's medical qualifications are...? If she's a doctor or nurse, yeah, get yourself checked pronto, but if she's just seen something on the news or, god forbid, the Internet, well, maybe not so much.
